The silence that stretched out in the library was loud enough to deafen Mauve. Her stomach knotted. She tried to read Louis' expression but it was hard to guess what he was thinking.
"May I ask why you'd want to know?" He asked, his gaze on her face was just as intense as his voice.
"Well, aside from the obvious—" she rolled her eyes at him. "You did say my stand can change with vampires."
"And you think a child would do that?" Louis spat out.
She shrank. "Don't sound like you hate the idea so much."
"I apologize, that was not my
intention," he sighed. "A child won't change their stance and that's on the chance that it is possible."
"You don't think it is?" She asked softly.
