Mauve held onto Jael as he tried to get out of bed. "Don't leave," she whispered.
She was wrapped in the bed cover, it kept her warm while she placed her burning head against Jael's chest.
"I am going to get Kieran," Jael said as he tried to pull away from her. "You're not getting any cooler."
"It's late. I don't want you to bother him," she whispered, "I just need to sleep. I am sure the fever will break before morning."
Besides, she was sure there wasn't much Kieran could do to help. She would need some herbs if she didn't feel better by evening.
Jael looked unsure and sighed. "You won't be bothering him," Jael insisted. "I will go get him and that's final."
Mauve simply nodded and rolled away from Jael. That took too much effort as she winced at the headache.
Her head felt like it would split open. She groaned. She would be lying if she said a huge part of her wasn't worried.
