Mauve watched the vampires look at her in horror as they heard her plans to take on most of the journey without them. Danag looked particularly displeased.
"Why?" He asked, looking desperate. "Surely, a carriage would be more convenient."
"I am not looking for convenience," she said. "Besides, this way would be faster."
"But we won't be able to join you in your travels," Danag added.
"Unfortunately for most of the journey. However, you would not need to slow down your pace on my behalf. I know it takes you less than three nights to get to the entrance of Nolands."
Danag still didn't look pleased with Mauve's explanation, "We promised the Primus we would get you to the castle."
"I have more than enough resources to get her safely to the edge of Nolands. You don't have to look so concerned," Malcolm interjected. It was obvious he didn't like Danag's insinuation.
