"I heard you the first time," she interrupted, her chest swelling. "Since that's how you want it, I have also made my decision."
"Is that so?" Jael asked with a blink. His face was still blank and Mauve hated how emotionless he was about the situation.
Mauve bit the inside of her cheeks, she was one blink away from being a sobbing mess. Jael looked unbothered and she would rather lose a limb than show how much this was heartbreaking to her.
However, she knew he had a clue. There was no way he would have said those words without having any intent behind them. He must have known how much it would hurt her.
Was he tired of her and this was a way of masking the situation up and making it look like her fault? It didn't make sense with everything that has happened recently.
They were fine, he even fulfilled his promise and got her the dresses. She gave him a scarf. Mauve winced at the memory of the scarf, it really was the cause of this.
