Mauve opened her eyes to see someone peering into her face. Actually, she didn't open her eyes. "Mhmm," she groaned.
He immediately let go of her eyelids and pulled backward. "She is awake!" He sounded excited and a little frightened.
"Mauve," Mill said, coming closer. "How do you feel?"
Mauve winced, her arm hurt and her throat felt parched. She opened her mouth to speak but it felt a little hard to talk. She tried to sit upright but failed.
Seeing her discomfort, Mill immediately helped her up. Mill rested Mauve's back against the wall so she could sit on her own.
"Thank you," she tried to say but it came out hoarse. She started to cough and Mill looked absolutely horrified.
"Don't talk," she said and brought water to Mauve's lips.
She drank some then leaned back and closed her eyes for a few seconds. She felt exhausted, she felt as though she had been beaten up and then tossed around.
