Mauve got to the front of her door panting as though she had been chased. She had nobody but herself to blame as she had practically run the entire way here. Her ears were still ringing from his words but she pushed them to the back of her mind as she turned the handle of her room's door and stepped in.
She sat on the bed and waited, Mill should be here any moment to help her settle in for the night. Even though she was dying to see the sunrise, she didn't want to piss off a certain vampire again.
She undid the knot she had used to tie her hair, she could swear it was blocking all the blood flow to her brain which would probably explain her earlier reaction.
A soft knock disrupted her thoughts and she stood from the bed. She walked to the door and turned the handle to open it.
"Mauve," Mill said, she sounded surprised. "You didn't have to open the door."
"It's fine," she said and stood to the side to let Mill in. "I needed the excuse to stand up."
