Chapter 15

They looked at each other, and Brother Chu raised his hand to hit the woman in her face, yelling angrily.

"Did you tell anyone else that I was coming here?"

The woman shook her head hastily, "No, No it's only me. I made sure to look behind me and I'm sure no one was following. "

He glared at her fiercely,

"My uncle told me to lay low until the heat past before we can start a new operation no one can know where I am."

The woman tried to prove herself: "Brother Chu, you know it wasn't me, I'm only loyal to you."

Brother Chu lifted his hands from her shoulder

and his brows were furrowed in the gloom, "Then who is so blind to come to the door at this time."

The rhythmic knock at the door came again, and the silence spread.

No one moved.

The woman hesitated and grabbed his arm,

"Maybe it's just a waiter at the door."

"...or maybe you're uncle sent someone here."

So when the door opened and he met the eyes of the person outside, he was dumbfounded.

The man in front of the door towered over him. In a neat suit holding an umbrella in his gloved hands.

Brother Chu bit the cigarette in his mouth and asked gruffly, "Who the fuck are you?"

The man's dark pupils reflected Brother Chu's arrogant and contemptuous face.

His eyes were almond-shaped and set deep into his skull with a pronounced brow bone. He had a tall nose bridge, with thin lips that slowly stretched into a polite grin.

Somehow this smile made his heart tremble and the cigarette in his mouth fell to the floor at the same time as the man's lips opened slowly.

"Chu Min sent me here."

"I need some information from you."

Brother Chu's face completely changed.

He knew that name.

But that person was already dead!

How?

A face filled with terror reflected against the silver tip of his umbrella glinted.

The plane landed smoothly in London, and after spending another sleepless night, they drove straight to the company.

Arlington was located in the most prosperous part of London where every inch of land was filled with gold. Even in the harsh winter weather, there were still throngs of people moving in and out of the city.

The moment he arrived, Slewynn attracted stares from all around, eyes bored into the group walking in front of the wide entrance. All kinds of gazes filled with different emotions, curiosity, indifference, probing and alienation.

They all knew about the recent undercurrents within the company, factions had already vaguely formed within the company and Noah's group seemed to have taken the lead. They were all waiting to see Selwynn's next move.

Many were thinking of where to stand next.

When Selwynn walked in, the receptionist stood up respectfully and bowed, "Good day sir, Vice President Noah and Deputy Manager Ronald are already waiting for you in the conference room."

"They said that there will be an important meeting there and to attend as soon as you arrive."

Cate nodded perfunctorily in response and took the ledger of appointments for today. Selwynn had already scanned his ID in front of his personal elevator and walked in.

When the elevator doors shut, the calm smile on Cates's face dropped and solemnity took over.

"It's bad."

"There are already traitors within the company."

"Someone leaked our itinerary. "

His eyes were grim, "Noah's people knew exactly when you would return to the country and calculated the time."

His blond hair covered the cloudy look in his steely eyes, "This is a show of power."

: "He wants me to see how much control he has over this group."

Cate couldn't help but curse under his breath, "This group of bastards."

"Do you think he's the one behind Da Zhao."

Selwynn shook his head, "I can't be sure."

He looked at his boss from the corner of his eyes, wondering what he was thinking.

Selwynn was thinking about his previous life. The same thing happened, he lost the bid for Norwegia but at that time it was because of his injury, when he woke up again, the company was already fractured.

The elevator door opened on the top floor and they walked out. Another secretary walked up to them, greeted and handed over a stack of documents needing approval that Cate had not brought along.

Seeing that they were going in the direction of his office and not the conference room, the secretary couldn't help but remind him, "Sir, the conference room is ready for you."

He looked back with dark eyes and the secretary subconsciously took a step back in fright, her chest tightening.

Cate smiled at the secretary and replied in his place, "Mr Arlington has something urgent to deal with. "

"Proceed with your work."

Selwynn looked away, they continued walking and the secretary was finally able to breathe well.

She was not here for long, only joined the company last year but she had heard of Selwynn's deeds. When he took over the organization four years ago, many people opposed and some even tried to kill him.

However, all those who fought against him without a doubt either disappeared or were imprisoned.

In private, they all called him a tyrant.

However recently...

They entered the office and Cate shut the door behind them. He couldn't help but laugh, " It seems even a secretary is not optimistic about you."

Selwynn sat behind the desk and looked around.

A familiar room filled with mahogany furniture, impersonal and stoic.

Selwynn took over the stack of documents,

"After all Noah as a part of my grandfather's generation had more time to infiltrate the company from the roots."

"The dissidents we eliminated in the beginning, did not hurt his foundation."

"However Noah is becoming impatient."

As he spoke, he looked through the pile of documents, singing the more insignificant ones and leaving the ones he wanted to look over at the side.

Cate reported his more important itinerary for the next coming days, " There is a charity function in the next city over for you to attend tomorrow. "

"Mr. Jones from Sterling group requested a private meeting with you in the Black Night club two weeks later to negotiate a buy out"

Selwynn hummed,

"Okay, Push it back and reschedule any unimportant meeting for the next three days."

"Yes sir"

Cate looked at the time, "Are you ready?".

---

The doors to the conference room opened, and the four people inside swerved towards the door.

Noah scrutinized the man walking in, and when he saw the gauze wrapped around his torso, his eyes flashed.

The sound of a lighter echoed, and he lit a cigarette, took a puff, and said slowly: "What happened to our great CEO, who injured you."

"Somebody whose hands are reaching for things they shouldn't."

Selwynn stepped into the room and smiled meaningfully.

Both of them knew who was responsible for this.

"It's a pity."

He did not say what was a pity.

The corner of Noah's lips raised, "I heard you had an eventful time yesterday, you bid a grand number of 45 million dollars."

He blew a puff of cigarette smoke in Selwynn's direction, "I never knew our organization was so rich."
