Chapter 81: Dawson Siblings

The next day, Zarah was surprised to see a hot chick outside the campus when she walked out.

Her presence earned a lot of attention, especially her red flashy Ferrari.

Although this woman was wearing layers of clothing, she exuded sexiness on a different level. She was like a walking seductress.

Kelsey squinted her eyes when her gaze swept Zarah. She could feel a sense of great familiarity when she looked at the beautiful woman who was standing not so far from her.

Then her eyes widened in shock. She didn't expect to meet her here of all places.

"Com-" before she could even continue, Zarah rushed to cover her mouth and asked, "What are you doing here? Didn't you receive my last message?"

Her coldness proved that she was indeed her commander Alpha.

"I did. However, whether you believe me or not, I'm not here for you!" Kelsey Dawson explained and emphasized at the same time.

"If you're not here for me, then for who?" Zarah asked with a frown.

"My brother. I heard that he's working here as a professor," Kelsey explained. For some reason, Zarah had a rough guess about who she was referring to.

There was a new professor whom she had bumped several days ago which she found odd as the first thing he asked was her name.

However, Zarah hid her thoughts well behind her calm face.

"Okay. If that's the case, pretend that you don't know me and you only asked for directions from me." Zarah said and let go.

"Thank you! Have a good day!" Kelsey obliged and went into action hoping that this would satisfy her.

Zarah hummed in response.

Then, her ride arrived and Zarah entered without looking back.

She was somehow envious of Bravo and Charlie for living close to her CA.

She was the oldest among them, so she should be their leader. However, Zarah was more suitable for the title, and she admired her a lot.

Sadly, they had to separate ways and never got the chance to have contact until the last time.

Perhaps because she pursued a different career than the other two she was deemed useless in Zarah's eyes. With that, she could only sigh.

She looked at the time on her watch and heaved a sigh. She continued looking at the gate and waited patiently.

When she saw the man she was looking for, she called him out immediately.

"Dwight!"

The man looked up in surprise and asked, "Kelsey?! Why are you here?" he then walked toward her in a hurry.

"I should be asking you that question, Dwight. Why are you here?"

"This is none of your business, Kelsey," Dwight dismissed her bitterly.

Kelsey snorted in disbelief. Had he not her brother, he would hit him in the head and then broke his skull open, and then checked if he had a functioning brain.

"At least get in the car," Kelsey said while looking around warily. She saw that passersby were looking at them and she started to dislike it.

"I have my car with me," Dwight spatted.

"Then get in your car and follow me," Kelsey demanded.

"Why should I obey you?" Dwight asked.

"Because I can," Kelsey confidently said.

"I'm no longer a kid, Kelsey. I don't need your protection."

"Sure. But we're triplets, Dwight. Should something happen to you because of your stupidity, do you think Tyler and I would just stand by?", she explained to him.

"I'm here for a favor. I'll go back once this is over," he explained and was about to walk away when Kelsey tried to stop him.

"I get it. You owe her. However, you know what kind of woman she is. Don't be deceived, Dwight. Even grandma is kind of hostile toward her."

"She's treating me nicely. And besides, she did not hesitate to donate her kidney to me when I needed it."

"She only wanted to use you. Don't you see it?" she tried to explain.

"I should have been long dead ages ago. My life was hers now." Kelsey was stunned to hear this from her brother.

She had no idea what the old woman had done to her brother and why he was acting such.

Her hatred toward Carla Kent grew.

Kelsey didn't stop Dwight from leaving.

She then looked at the time and decided to head to the meeting place that Zarah had set.

She entered the car and sped off. The next second, her car blended with the traffic.

Their meeting place was the coffee shop near Stevens Group company.

She parked her car at the designated parking lot outside the establishment and then got out.

As she entered the establishment, she was greeted by the smell of freshly brewed coffee.

She went to the counter and took her order. She settled at the vacant table by the glass wall and decided to wait for Zarah to arrive.

Meanwhile, her brother Dwight drove straight to the Oakridge City Police Women's Detention Cell.

This was not the first time he had visited and so the jail guard had recognized him.

Inside a small cell, a lonely Carla Kent was sitting on her bed when the jail guard came to find her.

"Miss Kent, you have a visitor!"

Three minutes later, they saw each other.

Like in the movies, a glass panel with holes was placed in between the visitor and the prisoner. A telephone placed on each line was their means of communication.

"You have five minutes," the officer reminded her.

"You're back! Have you found evidence that could acquit me from this case?" Carla Kent asked impatiently.

"Grandaunt, please be patient. Our lawyers are working hard to help you out." Dwight explained calmly.

However, the woman was impatient and was not calm at all.

"You better get me out of her Dwight at all cost! Don't forget only I knew the antidote to the poison in your body." Carla Kent heartlessly reminded him which caused Dwight's gaze to turn cold.

However, he looked down so the old woman opposite him would not see it.

"Most importantly, Rhea is in my hands."

"You don't have to remind me that, Grandaunt."

Everyone in their family thought that he had lost his mind when he decided to help this old woman.

Little did they know that she got him on his neck.

There was no other woman he met that was more cunning and evil than her. She was the worst!

"Good! Then get me out of here before my trial even begins. I don't care what method will you use. As long as I'm out of here!"

"It's not that easy, Grandaunt. The police commissioner himself was focused on your cases. He's working under Xavier."

There was solid evidence to prove that she planned the abduction and the mastermind behind the murder. She was more responsible for the crime than the person who pulled the trigger and killed Abigail Lockhart.

The only hope they had was a reduced sentence given her current age. Still, she would be imprisoned, or worse, be sentenced to the death penalty should the prosecution push for the harshest sentence.

As he mentioned Xavier's name, Carla Kent's gaze turned sinister.

"If you can't get me out of here, at least do something for me."

"What is it?" Dwight asked.

"Kill that b*stard. Should you not kill him, I'll kill Rhea instead. Remember this, Dwight."

Dwight Dawson left the prison after the visit was over.

He grabbed his phone and decided to meet with a friend.

This friend of his was named Tony. Tony was an underling of a mafia boss in Oakridge City.

He hoped that Tony could recommend him a hitman who could do the job for him.

He did not care how much he needed to pay. All he cared about was ending this and saving Rhea.

After arriving at the company, Zarah did clerical tasks while waiting for the time.

She heard a soft knock coming from the door and she said, "Come in."

Lena entered with a white folder in her hand.

"What is it, Lena?"

"Good afternoon, Miss Jansen. This is the proposal that Burton Technologies had sent."

"Oh give it to me." Lena gave it to her and then excused herself immediately.

Zarah opened the folder and then read the document.

After reading for an hour, she placed it on Xavier's table and went back to her table.

It was a tempting proposal indeed. However, it was up to Xavier to approve it.

And besides, this project should be handled by one of their subsidiaries.

At seven o'clock, she went out to have her dinner.

She would be having overtime tonight.

Zarah did not go to the cafeteria but went to the coffee shop instead.

As she arrived, she saw Kelsey with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake on the table.

The woman got up from her seat and then waited for Zarah to reach her table.

"I'm sorry. Did I make you wait long?" Kelsey smiled apologetically.

"Not that long." 'About two hours.' she continued inside her mind.

"I did not expect that you changed so much Commander. You never apologized to anyone before."

"Things changed over these past years. Are you hungry? We can go somewhere and have a meal first," Zarah changed the subject immediately.

Like an obedient puppy, Kelsey grabbed her bag and was about to leave when Zarah saw the cake on the table.

"Take it with you. Don't waste any food."

"Alright! Commander Alpha."

"I told you not to call me that," Zarah reminded her helplessly.

"Sorry. I'm just used to it. It came out of habit."

"It's fine. Don't do it next time."

Then, the staff came to them and packed the cake, and gave it to Kelsey afterward.

They walked out of the door and got outside.

Since she went there on foot and did not inform Elliott, she got into Kelsey's car.

"Drive. I'll tell you the direction."

"Okay, A-"

"Zarah. Call me Zarah."

"Oh! I didn't expect that your name shifted to the letter Z from A," Kelsey joked and Zarah gave her an eye roll.

"You never changed, Kelsey."

"How did you know my name?"

"You told me last time, you dummy!" Zarah scolded her. She didn't mind that this woman was six years older than her.

Kelsey nodded and started the car.

Zarah brought her to a hotpot restaurant for dinner which was ten blocks away. It was close to Irving Corporation.

They found a vacant table and settled down.

The waitress approached them and gave them the menu.

However, when she saw that it was Zarah, the waitress smiled as she recognized her.

Zarah was a regular here.

"The same as usual, Chacha."

"Right away, Miss!"

The waitress named Chacha came back with a casserole and a pitcher of beef stock. Chacha placed the casserole and turned the stove at the center of the table.

Then a tray of meat, vegetables, and seafood was brought to their table. While the other waitress who was helping Chacha was placing the clean plates and utensils.

They then left afterward.

As soon as the stock started boiling, she placed the meat and then some vegetables on the other side of the pot.

She then placed the seafood on the other half.

"I thought we were going to talk about the case."

"We will after we eat. And also, not here. Now eat!"

Kelsey nodded and started enjoying the hot pot.

Little did Zarah know that Kelsey had been looking forward to this day to come.

Kelsey kept stealing glances while Zarah was eating.

"What is it?" Zarah asked.

"Nothing. I'm just amazed to see you become a beautiful woman now. Dang! You're even more beautiful than me!"

"I've always been good-looking."

"Right! You're so good-looking even if you dressed up as a boy back then," Kelsey said which brought Zarah old memories.

It was inevitable as eleven years of her life was shared with Kelsey.

"Let's not talk about the past, okay? Where are you staying now?"

"I have just arrived. I was thinking of staying with my brother. However, given the situation, I guess I'll stay at a hotel tonight."

Zarah pursed her lips and then made a decision. "I'll arrange your accommodation then since I invited you here."

"Then I have to thank you for that!" Kelsey beamed with joy.

She knew that she was in safe hands as long as Zarah arranged it.

After they finished eating, Kelsey and Zarah went to the company.

The file was on her table.

They entered through the parking lot entrance and bypassed the lobby.

Zarah didn't bring her to the CEO's office but to the visitor's lounge on the executive floor.

"Wait here. I'll be back." Zarah left as soon as Kelsey's butt hit the soft cushion of the lounge.

After three minutes, Zarah returned with two folders. She gave the two folders first.

"Here. Take a look."

Kelsey received them and then read the first folder immediately.

"I didn't expect that someone dared to slander you in public, A-Zarah."

Kelsey did not expect the commander she had admired for years, had allowed herself to be slandered in public and more or less bullied.

"It happens however, I no longer want things to continue like this. It had to stop."

"I agree." Kelsey then continued reading but then she abruptly stopped and her eyes widened.

"Wait! You're married?!" Kelsey asked in surprise.

She didn't expect this news at all!

Kelsey finally felt hurt and at the same time disappointed.

Zarah pursed her lips while looking at Kelsey before she answered, "Yes."

"Whose the guy?"

***

Such a vicious grandma! She should have spent her remaining days on Earth doing good deeds instead of threatening her grandnephew with an innocent life.
