Origin story part 3- Virtue that is hidden in the desire

The light was dimming as the shadow devoured their way hungrily in the night. The sole light of the sun and moon were giving the only shelter them with a flick of light which was coming out from the matches.

Visha and I stood shoulder to shoulder with heavy expressions. We couldn't tell whether the help was coming or not, but they knew we were either be killed in this graveyard or escape with their all might.

" Listen to me, Cross. It is either you or me. We can't afford to wait for imminent death. I will try to lure it away while you escape to the exit."

Visha said, showing a serious gaze. He was trying to hide his nervousness, but his body was giving away the signals to me who was watching him carefully.

I knew he was brave, but he was a child of a happy family. There was a group of people who were waiting for him. I can't abandon my friend to this thing.

I didn't say anything as I signaled him to give the matches to me. Visha gave half of the matches to me. He was squeezing a smile to hide away his anxiety. However, I had already decided to give him a chance.

I raised my arm to signal him to run and he ran towards the left exit with his all might. A single smile formed on my face as I watched him fade away.

The red eyes were focusing on me as if it was saying you were my prey before me. It was getting close to me every second as the cold wind tried to blow away the little flame on his hand.

" Fine. You want a piece of me, I will give a piece of me to you."

As I steeled my heart and ventured into the darkness. The shadow enveloped me and a single figure rose from it.

She had a voluptuous body and a beautiful face, but her eyes were eerie black and red. She put her slender fingers on her mouth as she circled me with interest.

" You are an interesting boy. I haven't met anyone in the last centuries and much less a boy with a compatible body like you. Tell me, why are you giving up?"

The woman whispered while standing before me with curiosity in her eyes. Her cold fingers slid through my body like she was examining me and toying with me.

I didn't like her cold touch so I grabbed her hand without any fear. My hand was feeling extremely cold, but I gritted my teeth to endure the pain.

" I don't know what you are or what kind of monster you are. I beg you to leave my friend alone and I will be here."

I said, placing her hand on my beating heart to show my sincerity. Her scarlet nails dug into my flesh and drew my blood. She licked her fingers with an intoxicated look.

" Ah, such a brave fellow. No wonder your blood was tempting. You can't use divine power, can you? You are a special human."

She spoke with a greedy look on her face. I couldn't care less what she was talking about since I understood her intentions. She was after me. Therefore, I planned to do the most idiotic thing I have done in my life.

I took out the small twig near me with my foot under her gaze. She was smiling to say it didn't matter because she had already captured me. However, I knew how to use the items around me because I have trained for this kind of situation before. I picked up the twig and broke it into two pieces.

" Oh, are you going to stab me with it? It is useless even though it is interesting to see you struggle since the hunt would be more fun."

She spoke with confidence in her tone. I could see why she was confident. She was probably a strong demon that was near immortal, but she didn't take in one thing in her calculations.

" You like living prey, right? I tested you whether you would kill me or not, but you didn't. That means I am more valuable if I am alive."

I said while placing the sharp tip next to my neck.
