All through the. journey back home, Mikey was shaking uncontrollably like a leaf, he haven't alter a single word since they got back inside the car.
"Mikey are you alright?" asked Kiran as he look at his friend.
"I'm not Kiran, we almost lost our lives because of me, I'm sorry for always putting you into trouble, please forgive me" said Mikey as tears start rolling down from his eyes.
"It's okay Mikey, you don't have to cry" replied Kiran. "But this isn't your first time seeing guns, your guards in your mansion are always carrying guns so why are you shaking right now?" asked Kiran.
"It's different Kiran, seeing your people with guns is different from seeing others with guns" replied Mikey.
"Mikey, I get it that you are curious about Lydia, you are not the only one, but you have to control yourself, you can't just risk your life all because you want to know about her" said Kiran with a sigh.
"I understand Kiran, I'm sorry" replied Mikey as he put his head down.
Reaching his destination, Kiran step down from the car, as he was about walking towards his house, he turned to look at Mikey who was still in the car.
"Are you okay, or you want to stay over?" asked Kiran.
"Don't worry I'm good, extend my greetings to your mom, see you in school tomorrow" replied Mikey as he close the door and drove off.
'Why do he look so traumatized just from seeing a small pistol. what am I saying, what I called small would have definitely killed us' said Kiran to himself as he walk towards the door. 'Well I won't lie, I was also shaking at some point before I compose myself'.
"Good evening mom" greeted Kiran the moment he saw his mom.
"Evening son, how's was it, did you qualify?" asked Jenny as she hug him.
"Of course I did Mom, Lydia and I would be representing our school" replied Kiran as he hug her back. "I'm so famished mom, I could take on a whole chicken right now".
On hearing the words of her son, she burst out in laughter as he seems to be dead serious about it.
"Go and get refresh, your dad would be home soon" said Jenny as she walk back to the kitchen to continue her cooking.
"Alright" replied Kiran as he walked towards his room to take a shower.
After some minutes of waiting and still no sign of Hendrick, Jenny couldn't take it anymore as Kiran was wailing like a child.
"Stop that mister, you are not a kid" said Jenny as she stood up and walk to the kitchen, so she could serve for them to eat, but just when she was about serving it, Hendrick walked in.
"Thank goodness, dad why are you so late today?" asked Kiran.
"Sorry about that son, I was so busy that I lost track of time" replied Hendrick.
"Good evening sweetie, please to and take your bath so we can eat, Kiran have been wailing like a child for close to an hour now" said Jenny.
"I wasn't" said Kiran as he quickly denied it.
Jenny couldn't help herself as she shake her head, Kiran was now pretending to be a strong man in the presence of his dad, while when he was alone with her, he would be wailing like a child.
"I would be back in some minutes, you guys can start eating" replied Hendrick as he walked towards his room so as to take his bath.
"I'm going to wait for dad" said Kiran the moment Hendrick left them.
"Weren't you the one cry of hunger not too long ago" said Jenny in surprised.
"I just feel like waiting" was the reply from Kiran.
After taking their dinner, Hendrick bring out his phone to give Layla a video call so they could all talk with her before going to bed.
"Good evening dad" said Layla the moment she pick the video call, but seeing as everyone was present, she change her words. "Good evening family, how are all of you doing?".
"Good evening sis, how are you and school?" asked Kiran.
"I'm doing good and so is school, how's yours?" responded Layla.
"Everything is fine, I will be representing my school in this year maths competition" replied Kiran.
"Of course I know you will, there's absolutely no one who can take your position" said Layla.
"Well about that, I'm kind of second in position right now, but don't worry I will take my position back and tell you all about it later, let's talk as a family right now" said Kiran.
"Okay my cute baby brother, make sure to take your position" said Layla with a smile.
"Why won't you stop calling me that, I'm a grownup already" replied Kiran.
"No, you are not" said Jenny who was listening on their conversation.
"Well I'm almost" replied Kiran. "Layla would you be able to come on my birthday?" asked Kiran.
"I'm not really sure Kiran, I would have love to but I have some projects I have to attend to this week, but I promise I'm going to be the first to wish you, don't worry I will bring you a special gift when I'm coming back" replied Layla.
"Okay, don't go back on your promise" said Kiran.
"Don't worry I won't, I will never go back on my promise" replied Layla.
"How are you doing sweetie, hope everything is okay in school?" asked Jenny after Kiran finish his conversation with her
"Everything is fine mom, if anything was to happen, you would be the first I will call" said Layla.
"Really Layla, then why do you always call me first when you are in need of money?" said Hendrick while laughing.
"That's different, dad is to pay the bills, while mom is for advice and support, a daughter and mom relationship, just like you and kiran" replied Layla.
"Well isn't this interesting" said Hendrick.
After they all finish speaking with her, they disconnected the call as they all walk to their room so as to call it a night.
