Josiah’s P.O.V
A week had passed between the night of the ball and me being settled within the castle. I traversed through the halls, keeping to myself as I avoided different gossiping nobles. There were many things that made me stand out against those who paraded themselves in the reds and golds of the royal family, such was that Lady Vera had insisted I wear suits of white, blue, or even green like her and Asmodyus.
It wasn’t that I was ungrateful, having an ally within this new place always had its advantages. At the same time, such bright colors against the atmosphere of the palace made it all the easier for the nobles to jeer and make their assumptions of me. What made it worse was the different things that the nobles jested about towards the dragon-borne within the village.
“What do you think those dragon-borne are doing right now?”
“Ugh! Do not bore me with thinking of such lowlifes.”
