Édouard stayed in the study, waiting for Igor to come. He looked at the wall clock and found it was past dinner time. He rang the bell, and a servant walked in.
"Inform the Princess I will be a bit late," Édouard commanded her. The servant bowed and left the room.
Édouard fiddled with his fingers as he leaned on the leather chair. He was always disappointed with his father, who never bother to tell him the truth. He forcefully wanted to make him marry Matilda. Every time he would think about it, and it would fill him with anger. However, at this crucial moment, he could not either go, and fight with his father.
He heard a knock on the door and lifted his head. The door opened, and his most trustworthy spy, Ayan, walked in.
"Greetings to Prince Édouard," Ayan said and bowed to him.
Édouard smiled to see Ayan and asked him to take a seat. Ayan sat on the chair.
