Facing Reality 2

A few days after Alaukik woke up, in a gym-like facility inside the Institute, we can see a young boy of around 10 years of age exercising on the treadmill. Beside him stood another man who looked to be in his 20's with a small device in his hand that was measuring the vitals and speed of the young man. Right now, the boy, who was Alaukik, had already started huffing and puffing, and signaled to the man next to him to stop the treadmill and let him get off.

Having gotten of the treadmill and taken a seat next to some weights in the gym, he asked the young man,

"Do I really need to do this Devendra? I mean, my vitals are pretty good aren't they? Working out 10hrs everyday for the past 2 days has really tired me out."

"Alaukik, how many times have I told you, it's not Devendra, it's Mr.Rathore in the institue-"

"But I'm always inside this building! When will I get to leave?! I want to see the world outside!!"

"Ok, ok, you can call me whatever you like, but just know that we're doing this for your own good. We don't know if you might lose control again like last time, so we need to make sure you're safe."

"Very well…"

Even though Alaukik said that, looking around this place where he was supposed to be "safe", all he could see was a cage meant to keep him inside. Even though he might have adopted the bearings of a child to confuse the researchers in the facility (which was surprisingly successful. Maybe it was due to the fact that he had the body of a child, but acting childish came to him naturally), he still had the mind of a young adult. He understood that they were keeping him inside to monitor him and because they were still discussing what to do with him. And what he had to do is to use this situation to his advantage and figure out a way to not become a lab rat. That was what he had been pondering upon these past few days. Although, there were a few benefits to this situation. One was that he could have a place to develop safely and have access to state of the art magic research, and another was that he could develop a good relationship with Ms. Asha, who, while it may not seem like it, is a major figure in the Ruling Council.

In fact, Alaukik might not have noticed it, but for him, Ms. Asha had become something of a soothing presence. To him, she had become someone he could relax with, and not worry about his future in this world. It was just the aura she gave, an aura that said 'Everything will be fine child, just relax.'

While Alaukik was lost in his own world, and Devendra making his daily checks on Alaukik, in a far far away place, deep inside the main city of the Indo-Persian Fed, was occurring a meeting that would decide the fate of Alaukik.
