"Yup, that's four of them. And I will finally level up again after I eat that other monkey." Blake said after seeing his status.

'I guess it won't be soon that I could eat any tasty soul again…' Blake sighed as he turned his head towards the now lifeless monkey before shaking his head lightly.

Ignoring the monkey's carcass on the ground because he didn't have any interest in tasting the monkey's meat, Blake followed the connection he had with Robus and started walking over to the gorilla's location.

Robus was currently over at the place where he had nailed the injured monkey earlier with the earth spikes and also cutting down a whole tree in the process of doing so.

And different from when Blake was initially hunting low-leveled creatures that were only worth one soul and Robus was not any least interested in eating those, the monkey's soul was different and Robus quickly ate the monkey's soul right after it popped out of the monkey's body.

But he left the carcass untouched though since it seems that no matter how high-leveled the creatures were and how good the quality of their souls was, the gorilla still only consumed the fruits that it liked.

Which made Blake wonder whether it could be considered veganism or vegetarianism if someone refuses to eat animals and meat, but consumes their souls instead.

'Meh, whatever, the fact that he was still strong as heck even without eating enough protein is already a mystery that I could never solve.' Blake thought as he arrived and saw the untouched gorilla's body that still had one of the earth spikes lodged in its shoulder and the absence of the soul orb.

"Let's go pick up the other two souls!" Blake called out to the huge gorilla before walking back in the direction where 2 monkeys were still under the restriction of his darkness binding spell.

Blake walked with light steps as he was quite satisfied with himself since his earlier plans had worked.

From the moment he told Robus to not kill the first monkey and just injure it to make the group of monkeys stay rather than just fleeing, sneaking and catching two of the monkeys off guard with his binding spell, then lastly, using his darkness tendrils spell to catch up with the running monkey, they all had been very successful.

And added with the fact that he was only one monkey's soul away from leveling up to level 10 and getting one step closer to evolving and reaching the next demon realm, Blake wanted to give himself a pat on the back and enjoy a nice high-leveled fried sweet and spicy boar meat back at home before he tackles one of the problems that he hadn't solved yet which was creating the powerful one-shot original spell.

Although quite some time had passed since he had wanted to create one, Blake was still stuck and he didn't have any new inspirations yet.

He didn't have any use for it for now, but if he were to meet another strong demon, then having it would be a very nice insurance to make sure that he had a high chance of winning the fight and getting the savory soul that he craved.

'Well… Let's make sure that I have one before facing another high-leveled demon beast.' Blake thought to himself before he stopped moving at the two monkeys that were still alive despite their bodies being stabbed with the curved darkness tendrils that held their bodies down.

The two monkeys that were caught by the darkness binding spell didn't seem to have already accepted their fate yet as the moment Blake came up to their faces, they vigorously tried to shake off the barbed darkness tendrils away from their bodies.

But of course, they failed miserably as the more they moved, the more the darkness tendrils dug and latched themselves into their bodies, causing them even more pain.

And the pain soon became unbearable as the dozens of darkness tendrils with sharp tips cut open all parts of their bodies and the two monkeys finally stopped moving after almost passing out from the sheer pain that they felt.

Seeing the two monkeys' condition and remembering that he didn't have any beef with them, Blake quickly drew the darkness bullet runes and shot them at point blank range, right in front of the two monkeys' skulls.

With the darkness bullets being shot at point-blank range, the monkeys' skulls soon splattered and the monkeys laid lifelessly on the ground before two soul orbs appeared from their bodies.

Blake then grabbed the two soul orbs, throwing one of them to Robus and throwing the other one into his mouth. And then the two ate the souls right away.

[You have leveled up!]

Blake nodded in satisfaction as he saw that his level was now level 10. Although there weren't any milestones or rewards that he got from reaching level 10, he was now only 5 levels away from reaching level 15.

But Blake couldn't help but to also shake his head as he saw the number of souls needed to level up to level 11. "I don't think I could level up in just a week of hunting again starting now…"

Blake then looked at his huge gorilla friend and thought, 'I guess that's why this guy hasn't evolved yet despite the fact that we have defeated so many demons and eaten many souls. The amount needed keeps on increasing exponentially…'

'And that would also explain why Robus probably wasn't too interested in eating those weak souls, they really gave too little and tasted so bland. I can somehow understand him now…'

Blake then suddenly remembered the destruction that he saw earlier when he first just arrived and saw how the two simple earth spikes that he had summoned actually had more than enough capabilities to topple a 10 meters tall tree if used by the correct person.

With the strength that it displayed, the earth spikes being launched by Robus' humongous strength were more than enough for Blake to consider it as a one-shot spell that he needed to complement his arsenal of spells.

'But I don't have the strength to launch them as Robus did so I won't be able to use it like that…'

'I mean, it doesn't have to literally be me who launched it… If I can use my spell to launch it and it has the same strength as the one that Robus threw, then it would still work just fine.'

'But I don't think I have any spells like that. A spell that could throw or launch something as huge as the earth spike so fast. Like the earth spike was as tall as me, how am I supposed to find a spell that could launch something as huge as myself forward with great speed, right?'

'Right?'

'Wait a minute…'

While Blake was pondering about it, suddenly, the thought of a particular scene that happened a few minutes ago where he was chasing after the agile monkey resurfaced in his mind.

"I do have one!"

Then without waiting for anything, Blake deactivated his dark earth armor to make himself lighter before jumping up and landing on Robus' back. "Robus! Let's go back home!" He shouted while pointing in their home's direction.
