Heart-to-heart

"Is there anything I can do in return?" Blair asked, sounding almost desperate. 

Cadmus smiled appreciatively. "How about grabbing a 'real' dinner sometime?"

She bit her lower lip with a grin. He seemed to be asking to be teased right now.

"Why, are you asking me out on a date, Your Highness?"

Seeing the way his face flushed a deep red, his eyes widening comically, she felt something she never felt before, her feet stumbling over air as she stood up straight.

"Your Highness!" she squeaked. "Are you asking me out on a date?"

He gave a helpless shrug of his shoulders, which looked hilarious with his hands buried in his pockets. "I-I don't know!" he wheezed, looking almost as if he was panicking. "Maybe? Yes? No? Yes? I really don't know."

It would be like a platonic outing between friends if that indeed happened, though.

Blair broke into laughter. Cadmus gave a pouty glare.
