Halsted was more than tempted to give Cadmus a good earful the next time they saw each other. 

'Of all the irresponsible things.' He could already foresee the headaches sorting out this mess. 'I'm not against him dating, but not like this.'

Many people would kick a fuss about the sudden announcement.

Then again, he made it clear over and over again that his son wasn't willing to be in a relationship yet. Not to mention, his wife wouldn't be thrilled to learn that he was seeing someone behind their backs. 

Not too long, the expected outcome happened. Phone calls and text messages surged like a ferocious tide. In the end, the business trip was postponed.

And with that, he and his secretary found themselves in a rush to get back home.
