Chapter 44 : Aboard The Ship (1/?)

The ship was a normal military cargo ship, with several stations dedicating to the people and then the cargo which was put in the lowest layer of the ship , and was heavily guarded so nobody had the idea of breaking in and stealing valuables.

Then there was the stables , where several different types of beasts were getting held.

Ajel found interest in this , and since they were free to go to , Ajel decided to go and look around the ship.

Walking down from the bunks , Ajel saw a man getting slammed against a metal wall , before getting thrown away like a ragdoll.

"Looking at something , kid?" The man wore a cape on his back, which showed that his ranking was higher than a bog average solider.

"No." Ajel muttered , not even looking down at the man that had a broken spine with pity.

Frankly , he didn't care.

"What is your name?" The man asked , which made Ajel turn around and frown. "Ajel, security detail for the golden camels."

"Security detail? at your age? i bet the scent of your mothers milk is probably on you."

"I never got the chance." Ajel kept his poker face.

Really , he didn't feel anything inside when his parents got mentioned. He had looked for them in the Freljord , but no names were traced , not a slither of information.

Feeling the touch of the spear tip on his hand , Ajel reminded himself that the story of his parents getting eaten by a silverwing was probably fabricated , as a mage with average skill , especially two , can take down a silverwing with enough training.

But there , of course , probably was some factors such as his mother getting weakened by childbirth.

"Your Demacian?" His features caught the attention of the man , as Ajel nodded his head. "From the highlands."

"Your view on the Demacians?" this felt less like a question and more like a interrogation.

"Complicated." Ajel had no reason to tell his life story to this man , as he turned his back once more.

And then....

time slowed down.

This was something that happened when Ajel was in danger , or something was about to happen that could threaten him.

it was a skill he was aware of possessing after his fight with that shit father that killed his son.

Listening to the sound of the air , Ajel determined that there was a large object coming behind him , what it was and how dangerous it was , he had no clue , but he was certain that it would fatally hurt him if it hit him.

But he had no weapon , no shield , nothing to block it. He didn't want to use the Azakana's power as he would be immediately hunted and killed on the spot with just a slither of demonic energy.

time slowed down , yes , but it did not stop.

Ajel decided to stand still , until the object got closer.

the sound of the object and the air waves was a testament to the man's strength , even through his own sense of time the weapon was approaching like he was in normal time.

Ajel's eyes opened.

It was aimed at his leg!

Once the sound was as close as possible and it was immanent , Ajel gave a grunt as he jumped upwards. His metal leg protested to the sudden change of moment , but Ajel ignored its cry and focused on the task infront of him.

Time once again resumed as the spear-like weapon tore through the air , but it's target was already in the air.

The spear-like weapon then tore through the several sheets of the metal on the ship , as Ajel landed on the ground smoothly.

*Clap* *Clap* *Clap*

Ajel's eyes locked onto the man , as the simple clapping noises filled the room and Ajel's ears.

"What is the meaning of this?"

"Just to see if the Demacian's younger generation are worth anything."

Ajel stayed silent , as he observed the man's weapon.

It was like a spear , but it had a axe's head and something that looked akin to a hook.

Ajel looked at the weapon in interest , as he had never seen a weapon like it.

"We understand that your Demacian swine do not have good weapons , but it nice to see someone respect my weapon like that." the man snickered , as he walked towards Ajel , which made his back go cold.

Seeing the man walk past him , Ajel breathed a sigh of relief as the man grabbed the weapon and did not intend to hurt him... that was for now.

"Dismissed." The man said arrogantly , which caused Ajel to roll his eyes. The blatant nationalism caused Ajel to frown , before restoring his previous appearance when the man turned around. "Come visit us at the arena... we will show you how pitiful you swine are when faced with real power!"

Ajel's body turned around the man , before walking back to the direction.

One of the rules of the ship are that outsiders are not aloud to fight with Noxian soldiers , and the result could lead to instant execution.

However , the ship wasn't a prison ship , so some forms of entertainment was present... if you could even call them entertainment.

For one , there was a training ground reserved for the soldiers on the ship , whereas there was a training station for the security detail of the ship was situated on it.

There was also the cafeteria , the smith , which was Ajel was interesting on visiting. Although the dagger was something that he praticised the pinwheel with for the past two years , Ajel felt like it wasn't for him , as it meant that prolonged combat would be fruitless , as a sword and a dagger clashing would result in the sword winning.

A good example was just , as if he was on equal terms with the man and the man possessed this "halberd." the dagger would of maybe put a few quick attacks , yes , but the halberd would easily overpower the dagger.

He needed a new weapon.
