Chapter 78.

Ian woke up, lazily yawning, and looked outside the window to see it was raining. It had been raining for the past week because Christmas just ended. The temperature had decreased down to 3°C, it was cold yet Ian was having a moment for himself.

He remembered how he woke up in the same bedroom and thought how he was here. The way he came back, he was remembered for every moment, every success, and every hurdle.

How he earned Mason's trust, started things with Home Alone, then La La Land, writing Resident Evil, from the beginning to the end, he was feeling it all.

A knock on the door brought back Ian's attention, while he stood up and opened it revealing Valerine who still had her hand fisted to knock one more.

"Good morning, Valerine," Ian said.

"Good morning, Master Ian, there's someone waiting to meet you," Valerine said.

"Who?"

"That person said he was an owner of a book publishing house,"

"Oh, tell him to give me a few minutes, I'll be down shortly. And please, treat him well," Ian said while Valerine nodded with a quick, okay sir.

"Steven, nice to see you again," Ian walked down the stairs and said loud enough for Steven to hear.

"How have you been, Ian? I heard things have been going great," Steven said with a smile.

"Yeah, things are fine, of course. How are you, please sit," Ian said while seeing how he stood up when Ian came.

"I have been good too, Oh, before it slipped my mind, Congratulations on the nominations for Oscar, that is huge, Ian," Steven said with a smile.

The Oscar nominations were released last week. La La Land was nominated for Best Achievement in Music Written - an original song, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, Best Original Screenplay, Best Picture, Best Achievement in Production Design, and Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading role.

In Ian's original world, La La Land was nominated for two hundred and ninety-seven awards and won two hundred and forty-three awards. In fact, La La Land was nominated for all kinds of awards except for horror and thriller.

"Thanks, Steven, the effort belongs to everyone including me, and I'm looking forward to winning an Oscar, two years' worth of effort anyway," Ian said with a smile.

"I actually came to ask about something else, but yes, I'm very happy for you," Steven said.

"What is it about?"

"Don't you have any idea to start working on another book?" Steven asked.

For the past couple of years, Actus book never got a book with the same potential Resident Evil had. When the book was first released it gained a huge amount of exposure. But after that, it all died down due to not having other books with the same potential.

The people who were hard-core fans of Resident Evil kept sending requests and were in search of other similar books that could hook them up with a great plot, character building, and a book that could be read over and over again.

During the two years, Ian was busy making movies and he didn't get any time to focus on anything else other than movies.

With the question Steven asked, Ian's mind wandered to classics from his old world. The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, Nineteen Eighty-four, Pride and Prejudice, and many others came to his mind.

"I really didn't get much time to think about it, but yes, I promise I will eventually," Ian said and smiled apologetically.

"Looking forward to it, Ian," Steven said and walked out of the house.

Without thinking further, he called Mason.

"Good morning, Ian. It's eight, don't you have to be here in an hour?" Mason asked through the phone.

"Uncle, the Oscars. When will my suit be ready?" Ian asked while walking up the stairs to get ready because he had to be in the studio in no time.

"Oh yes, in no time, within two-three days," Mason said.

"Great, I was worried for nothing," Ian said and chuckled.

"Suit aside, who would you take with you to the red carpet? Or will you be representing the title of a 'single available bachelor director'? I mean, it won't be bad but you are not the type to do that-"

Hearing this Ian chuckled again.

"Simple as this, I won't take one but bring one home," They both laughed at Ian's words.

OSCAR Nominations are OUT!

Oscar Nominations 2018: Full List of Nominees Led by It is a Mystery

It Is A Mystery and June lead the nominations total, while RunSlow, Runaway Bride, and Signal To The Right have strong showings as well.

BY

JANUARY 10, 2018

The films with the most nominations at the 2018 Oscars are literally worlds apart— June, the expansive sci-fi epic set on several fictional planets, earned 10 nominations, while New Zealand–filmed Western It Is A Mystery leads the pack with 12 nominations in total. What they have in common, as do many of their fellow nominees, is impressive filmmaking craft, from actors (It Is A Mystery has four acting nominations) to sound to cinematography.

The 2018 Oscar ceremony, taking place Sunday, February 2nd, will find those nomination leaders facing off against a wide range of contenders, from the small family-friendly movie, Rangers—a recent winner of a slew of industry awards—to the hit apocalyptic comedy Keep Looking Down. In the acting categories, Mark De Thompson, Ariana Melroy, and Flinn Friday will arrive as strong front-runners in their respective categories, while the best-actress race remains intriguing and difficult to predict. Both of the screenplay categories are close as well, while in the crafts categories, it will be June and It Is A Mystery squaring off against everything from Runaway Bride to It Is Okay To Die.

One of the biggest questions going into the night is whether Rangers can break a nearly 100-year-old precedent and become the first film with three or fewer nominations to take home best picture since 1932. A 2018 Sundance Film Festival favorite picked up by SIM, the studio, for an eye-popping $25 million, was something of a surprise best-picture nominee when Oscar nominations were announced on January 1st, but it has only picked up more steam from there. Finn, who plays the loving and scruffy father to an aspiring singer, has won nearly every supporting-actor prize awarded since then. Then again, It Is A Mystery has the most nominations and acclaim coming into the night, which usually spells best-picture success. And at the same time, the studio behind RunSlow claims it's right in the thick of a three-way race. Everyone always says that anything could happen at the Oscars, but this might be the year they actually mean it. Not to mention, the fact that the new director, Ian Renner who started his career two years ago had been nominated for six awards increases the competition.
