Rebound Girl

Tyler's POV

"I am sorry, daddy, I am just afraid Ara will go away; you told me she was working in a hospital, right?" Anika asked as we got inside the house.

"Yeah, but Arabella would be staying here on the island for good after her mom had a heart attack. She was afraid if something would happen to her mother." I responded as I caressed her head.

"You don't need to feel worried about it, Anika. She will be here, and I know Ara was excited to be with you." I added as I looked at her worried face.

"Okay, good night, dad." My daughter replied as she smiled at me.

"Good night, sweetheart. Do you want me to read you a bedtime story?" I asked, and my daughter shook her head.

"No, it would be okay, dad, I had a nice talk with Ara, and I felt sleepy now." She replied, and I kissed her forehead. I walked to my room; let out a sigh of relief that, at last, Ara would be with us tomorrow.
