Chapter Forty

Alzie did his best to hide his excitement as they made their way to see Cyro. He had been wanting to see him and check up on him. Mira had packed a special lunch for Cyro in they basket he had gotten for her earlier. He was surprised to learn just how much Mira actually cared for Cyro. He hoped they weren't too late. No visits were allowed after midday, and the sun had begun its decent from the sky. Just as they made it outside a strange feeling over came Alzie. He suddenly fell to his hands and knees, energy flowing in and out of him. The mark from Heili giving off a slight burn. He didn't know what was going on, he couldn't move either. Mira and Inidgo pulled at him as they tried to speak to him. All he could hear was Heili's heartbeat and the heartbeat of another. He could feel what Heili was feeling, as invisible hands move on his body. It hadn't registered that Indigo was dragging him back inside. He tried to resist the pull of energy, and the pleasure he began to feel. He closed his eyes trying to concentrate on blocking it out. The sound of Frazen's panicked voice made him open his eyes. He was now in Mira's bed. He was in pain from trying to resist what was happening to him. His stomach twisted, causing him to feel sick and curl into a ball. He was thankfully when he was finally able to hear.

"He's resisting the sharing of energy and bonding!" Frazen's voice was calming to him and helped him relax a little bit.

"Bonding? Energy sharing? What are you talking about?" Mira's voice was load as she shouted. They were all shouting.

Indigo was shouting for water and cloth and the roaring and pain came back. He didn't want to bond to who ever Heili was with. He didn't want to feel any of it. Had he been prepared he would have been able to block it all out with a smoking herb. However, due to Heili's lack of consideration he was now in pain and sick to his stomach. He thought he was nearing the end till a breath-taking sharp pain hit him in the chest. He screamed clawing at his chest till he passed out from the pain.

He could feel the soft touch of a cold wet cloth on his head as he began to wake. His body sore and aching all over. He knew he now had a mark on his chest, showing that he was now sharing Heili with another. He didn't dare look as he opened his eyes and looked to see who was pressing the cloth to his head.

"Frazen," he weakly said with a dry throat.

"Shhhhh," he was quick to hush him and began pouring water into a cup. "Drink this."

He gladely accepted and down the cup in one gulp. It hurt as the water went down causing him to cough. It had taken a lot of energy to resist bonding to Heili's second mate, it's sad to say he wasn't fully successful. He was now partially bonded to this other beast, now able to feel their emotions. However, due to him not being fully bonded he can't feel if they are in pain nor sense when they are near. Part of him hoped that when he clawed his chest, he obscured the marking placed there. He looked back at Frazen, trying to read his face as he undid his bandages. Hoping to get some hint from him of what was on his chest. Other a slight flinch Frazen's face stayed stone cold, not letting any emotion escape. The feeling of the clod cloth hitting his chest burned and made him hiss. He smiled with the pain; happy he hadn't fully healed. Gave him a chance to ensure the mark would stay obscured. An obscured mark showed a mating and bonding was done against one of the beasts wishes, allowing the Pythoness to reverse or break all ties. The Pythoness is what they needed now most. They can show if Mira will be successful in carrying the beastly inside her.

"You shouldn't have resisted, would have saved you a lot of pain." Frazen's voice was soft, yet anger could be heard there.

"I didn't consent too it, so why would I accept it." He placed his hand over Frazen's, realizing how shaky he was. "But now I can break all mating ties and be free to choose again."

"Don't." Frazen quickly pulled his hand away, a single tear fell from his eyes.

"Don't what?" Alzie sat up concerned for his lover.

"You know we can't be mated like everyone …" He trailed off not looking back at him. "What about Cyro?" He whispered it, but Alzie could still hear it.

In Alzie's short time with Mira, he realized he need to let go of Cyro and just be there for him as a friend again. He was becoming increasingly close with Frazen. He was there for Alzie so many times when he needed someone. Even when it annoyed him.

"Forget Cyro," he said with single hesitation. "He just a friend nothing more."

He never saw Frazen move to so quickly, nor look so shocked. He looked quite cute, standing there with his mouth open. He motioned for Frazen to come too him, patting the empty space on the bed. Frazen hesitated unsure of Alzie before doing as told. Alzie wrapped Frazen in his arms as he sank onto the bed, licking his neck lovingly. He could feel Frazen begin to relax, his muscles slowing molding against his body. They hadn't been together for a whole day and night. It felt nice to have him back in his arms, resting as he showed him some attention. He enjoyed the comfort it brought, however soon he was releasing Frazen as he flashed back to what had happened. He never felt such a thing before, and he didn't know how to even process it. He needed time. Sure, it wasn't physically happening, but it still happened. He covered his face, not wanting to show the torment he was going through to Frazen. He knew it would make him think of him differently, see him weaker than he showed.

"I have to go." Frazen gave him a small lick on the head before moving off the bed. "I promised my brother I would stand next to him."

"Why? What's going on?" He peeked through his claws as he watched him put away the cloth and water.

"Today is Cyro's hearing." Frazen stood still his back to Alzie.

A still, unnerving silence fell over them. He had been dreading this day knowing no matter the outcome, one of them would loose someone special. He lied to himself multiple times, saying they would be alright the past few days. Now the day was here, and his heart was already breaking. Frazen didn't move till Alzie got up and tried to touch his shoulder. His hand rested just a breath away from his shoulder, frozen. He pulled it back as he watched Frazen leave. He couldn't make I single sound to stop him as the door closed. He hated that soon he will be standing on the opposite side of his lover.
