Never in her life did she think that one day, she would be sitting, late at night, waiting for anyone in the family to return. The Smiths always followed a rule no one had even placed for them. 

That is one of the rules among other rules. 

But for the past few days, they have been broken more than they have even been in her entire life. 

If Maya had any other friends than Brent, they would inform her that, it was normal for siblings to come back home late without even informing anyone that they would be late in the first place, and that would be that. 

Now, the problem was: It was reversed, and the kids were waiting for the parents.

It was a bad time for Maya. She was worried about her internship. Her brother, Roy, was not telling her what bothered him. Nadia was worried about her college acceptance, something she was not supposed to worry about.
