[Quincy Archer Hates You Arc] Part 42: Teaming up against a new threat

Ichigo: "Heh heh…finally I found you…To be honest, I'd like to skip straight to the part where I beat you up, but first I need to trash this guy here…" - he said while grabbing Kon's shirt collar that was still stuck in my cat's cradle - "Kon!!! What the hell took you so long!?

Kon: "Why am I the priority here!? You should focus on that guy over there instead of me!!!" - He shouted while pointing at Uryu.

It didn't take long for Ichigo to completely ignore Uryu and start arguing with Kon, making Rukia angry, which made her join the argument as well. It was even funny to see Uryu trying to get their attention to no avail.

Uryu: "...Ermmm...Stop it you two! I'm your enemy! This is no time for you to fight each other!"

I looked at Uryu when I noticed that no one gave a damn what he said. When I saw that Quincy was getting irritated with the situation, I decided to speak up.

Yato: "Um…Ishida-san, you don't need to shout to get their attention…watch." - I manifested some more threads and did with Ichigo the same thing I had done with Kon, trapping both in a cat's cradle and leaving both upside down.

Ichigo: "What The Hell, Yato!!!!"

At that moment I finally decided to let go of Ichigo and Kon and focus on the situation that was about to happen.

Uryu in turn, turned to the Hollows that were in his and started shooting at them with his bow and arrow. At the beginning of this competition, Uryu only needed one shot to eliminate a Hollow, but as time went on, it was becoming more and more difficult to eliminate them.

Ichigo: "Give up, Ishida! There are too many of them!! Once we think of a strategy–"

Uryu: "...What's wrong? Are you scared, Kurosaki?"

Ichigo: "The last Quincy…? What is he talking about…?"

Rukia: "The fall of the Quincy 200 years ago. All surviving quincy hate the shinigami. The source of their hatred...is that 200 years ago, the quincy were destroyed at the hands of shinigami."

Ichigo: "The shinigami…destroyed the quincy?"

Rukia: "That's right…there was no other option. It was an order to prevent the destruction of the world…"

Rukia started to explain why the shinigami made the decision to destroy the quincys, but since I already knew what she was going to say, I was more focused on communicating with Cheshire.

Yato: 'Cheshire…from what I understand, I can't easily acquire the powers of a Quincy because I'm not that close to one, correct? Would there be any other way?"

Cheshire: 'Well…if you manage to get the threads to touch Uryu, I can make this possibility more accessible…but then you would have to stop hiding the threads and depending on what you do, they might end up suspicious…especially Urahara.'

Yato: 'If that's the case, I already have an idea of what to do.'

I turned my attention back to the mess with the Hollows. Ichigo was already running towards where Uryu was while Rukia and I stayed behind.

The little shinigami looked at me for a while and finally asked.

Yato: "About what...? The quincy…?"

Rukia: "Yes. You were quiet throughout the story so I thought–"

Yato: "I don't really know what to answer… it's complicated…" - I answered vaguely. - "Rukia, I'm going to see if Ichigo and Ishida-san need help. Try to stay away from the Hollows." - I commented as I ran in the same direction Ichigo had gone.

Rukia: 'Again…he never looks directly at me and doesn't answer clearly.' - She thought. - 'During these months that I was together with Yato, although he rarely shows it, I learned to notice when something bothers him…the first time was with Inoue's brother…But he never tells anyone what he feels…'

Kon: "Nee-san, why are you making that face? Are you worried?"

Rukia: "Yato…" - She kept looking at where Yato had run for a few seconds. - 'It's hard to know what he's thinking but surely something bothers him...I should wait...but...would he really tell me of his own free will...?'

When I got to the spot, I saw that Ichigo and Uryu were surrounded by several Hollows and were fighting back-to-back.

I materialized some threads and purposely made them visible to anyone in that area before using them to cut down some Hollows that were in my way.

It didn't take long until I reached the duo.

Ichigo: "You're late." - He commented while smiling.

Yato: "I didn't know I had a time to get here…" - I commented as I positioned myself between Ichigo and Uryu. - "Apparently you two have already made up…" - I mocked.

Uryu: "We didn't! We're still enemies. It just so happens that we have a common enemy so–"

Yato: "I was just kidding, you don't have to explain everything so thoroughly…"

The three of us spent a few minutes fighting and knocking down the Hollows that approached until Uryu noticed a strange movement coming from the Hollows.

Uryu: "...Kurosaki. Yasakani."

Ichigo: "What's the matter, Ishida?"

Uryu: "...The Hollows are acting strangely..."

Yato: "They're all looking up." - I said while I was also looking at the sky and when I saw what was there, although I already knew that thing would appear, I still felt a certain fear…

Only the face of the Menos Grande had emerged from a gigantic crack that had formed in the sky.

Ichigo: "Wha…what the hell is that…?"

Uryu: "It's enormous! Is that a Hollow too!?"

Yato: "How was I supposed to know?"

Ichigo: "Shut up!! That's all we can do for now!!"

Yato: "I…I can try to hold the Hollows here while you deal with that."

Interrupting our discussion, some of the Hollows were all hit by what looked like a machine gun.

Holding what looked like a gun full of seals around it, the little girl looked at us with a very…sad expression.

Ururu: "....H….Hello…."

Yato: 'That weapon looks like a giant cigarette...'

Soon, Urahara also entered the scene, followed by Jinta and Tessai.

Urahara: "Kurosaki-san! Yasakani-san! We've come to the rescue~!!"
