I had Archer withdraw our small force and set up camp just outside the capital. The rogues didn’t seem to have an interest in us anyway.
“Archer, give me a plan or an idea. We need something.”
Archer had a map of the city laid out on a table. He was scouring it for any weak points in the palace, any way we could get in without having to take out the entire army.
The king was holed up inside. He had all his royal guards in there. If we could get to the king and let him know that he had support, we could make a plan to take back the capital with his army.
“I’m not seeing any way inside.” Archer groaned and pressed his forehead to the table.
“I don’t want to hear that, Archer. Check again and give me something to work with!”
I paced back and forth. My wolf was restless. We’d been away from Eliza for far too long, longer than I’d told her we’d be gone.
And at this rate, it would be even longer before we got home. Cleaning up the capital would take time.
