Chapter 48

Ray took the microphone and said. 

"Now, when the presentation is over. The participants who got first 5 places will have a chance to bid for this project. The person who bid the biggest price will have an opportunity to work on this project." 

When his voice ended the surrounding was silent. 

Bid finally began. All the Five groups have to increase a minimum of 100 million each time. And the beginning amount is 1 billion. The group who got first place in the presentation has the priority to win.

Gu Xiaochen immediately took his card and called 300 million. Others also didn't back down. Lee group, He group , Wu group and Ji group who won the first 5th place put forward their money. Others who lost the opportunity to bid looked at these people who are investing so much for this project. That means only one thing, this project is very important. They could only sigh because they lost their chance because of their poor ability. Bid continued.

But when the amount reached 3 billion, the speed of bidding slowed down. Ji group backed out. Wu Heliang  gritted his teeth. He wants to win this project to stabilise his position in the company. He who is looked down upon by his father was finally able to stand on this position. There are still internal problems. Cooperating with the Noel group will give him the stability he wants. But the bidding amount is much higher than he thought. 

What put him in more trouble wasn't the amount. But he could only win, if his final amount was 30% higher than the final amount by Gu group who got the first prize. This is the privilege you will get because of your successful presentation. Which will also put others who didn't get first place at a disadvantage. Finally he couldn't do anything but back down. 

He Donghai clenched his hand. His face turned more and more ugly. Everything about today made him extremely angry. Finally he couldn't stand it anymore and went out without even looking back. Secretary Chu looked at his boss and sighed. He also wanted to go, but if he did that, It will affect The group negatively. So he didn't have any other option but to wait until the bid ended. 

Finally, the final battle was a showdown between Lee group and Gu group, more precisely between Lee Fengge and Gu Xiaochen. Two famous and beautiful omegas, whom those Alpha's once called beautiful flowers, and their only purpose was to decorate the house and give birth to new seedlings. 

Gu Xiaochen and Lee Fengge looked at each other. Surrounding people felt a thunder spark between two people. Two of them didn't back down. Bidding increased. 

What amazed them was that the Gu group continued to bid. They all have question marks on their heads. How could Gu group have this much money? Did they sell everything to participate in this bid? 

When everyone was confused.  The bid amount finally reached 5 billion. And Gu Xiaochen stopped bidding after. Lee Fengges face was calm but his clenched fist betrayed him. He was sweating. But he can't back down now. He finally took his card and bid the amount 30% higher than Gu group. 

There was silence in the air. The host and others looked at Gu Xiaochen, saw he wasn't moving. Lee Fengge also glanced at Gu Xiaochen. Xiaochen sighed. He put down his card showing he was backing down. 

Lee Fengge's clenched fist loosen. He sighed in relief. Host also came back to his senses. He called 3 times. Finally,  Lee group was the winner. 

Xiaochen looked at Lee Fengge. He really didn't want to lose, but his brother told him beforehand to stop when the bid reaches 5 billion. Though he doesn't like to lose, if his brother says so he will do it. 

Everyone applauded. They went forward to congratulate Lee Fengge. Ray once again came to the stage. 

He first gave his congratulations to the Lee group who won the bid today and invited him to the stage.Then thanked everyone for their participation. 

"Finally, I will now announce the decision of our higher ups. Because our higher management liked Mr. Gu Xiaochen's presentation, we decided to give Gu group the privilege to participate in this project." 

When everyone heard this announcement they were dumbfounded. Someone looked at Gu Xiaochen with envy and others appreciated his ability. Then someone began to applaud which was followed by everyone else. 

Gu Xiaochen went to the sign. In front of the media and others. Gu Xiaochen and Lee Fengge signed the agreement. 

Finally the media got a chance to take pictures freely. 

Everyone stood witnessing the first cooperation between country M and Country A. 

Gu Weicheng watched everything through the monitor. 

Secretary Wu peaked at his boss. 

"Do you want to ask something?" A majestic voice echoed in the room making Secretary Wu flinch. He hesitated for a moment and said. 

"I don't understand why Sir gave this opportunity to the Lee group. Aren't they our enemy?"  Secretary Wu finally expressed his doubt. If he was an ordinary secretary he would have thought the Lee group would get this opportunity because of the  relationship between his boss and young master Lee. But as a secretary who knew his boss pretty well. He is sure his boss didn't make this decision because of some feelings  he had for the young master Lee. He understood, by cooperating with the Gu group he was indirectly protecting the Gu group through the Noel group. But he can't understand why partner with his enemy Lee group

Gu Weicheng smirked. 

"Have you ever heard a proverb? keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." Weicheng stood up and walked towards the door and said with a smirk,

"With them partnering with the Noel group, it will be much easier to dig deeper. And also" his eyes darkened

"To catch the prey, we need to put the best bait in front of them."

Secretary Wu immediately understood. By partnering Lee group and Gu group, he is trying to bait the person who is still playing behind the curtain. 

Secretary Wu shivered thinking of his boss's ruthlessness. 

'So, he is using his own younger brother as bait. Poor Second Master.' He cried internally. 

Gu Weicheng without knowing his most capable secretary was internally cursing as he walked out of the door.

Xiaochen sat on the dinner table alone. David got a call and went to attend. 

When he was alone. He saw a figure walking inside of the restaurant. His eyes widened. The person also saw Xiaochen and Walked towards him. 

David came back. He saw someone talking to xiaochen. 

"Who? " He asked with a smile. When the person looked at him, his smile froze, he asked. 

"Why are you here..? "
