"No, sir! But my daughter… I don't ever want her to be hurt!"

I get off the sofa and kneel in front of her. Katie lowers her gaze to the floor sobbing lightly. I gently lift her chin with a finger until she is looking at me, then I softly speak.

"Katie, if I order you, punish you, or hurt you, it is because you want me to. do you really believe that I would treat Hope this way? You see me as someone who can bring order in your lonely life, but Hope… Hope sees me as the father figure she never had. I will not lie to you, I am attracted to her, but I would never knowingly hurt her."
