New World Ship Battle

Somewhere on the seas of the New World, there was a large fleet of pirate ships attacking some other ships.

The ships belonged to the Marines and the flags hung from them showed their affiliation.

It was quite a daring move for anyone to attack the Marines at sea yet the large fleet showed no hesitation as their cannons bombarded the ships.

The Marines were vastly outnumbered as they were being put in a difficult situation.

They did their best to maneuver out of the way of cannonfire and counterattack but they just could not keep up with the constant attacks coming in from so many angles.

They were vastly outnumbered and only one person on board the few Marine ships seemed to be capable of doing anything effective.

Some were busy deflecting the cannons using their swords and physical prowess while a single man was stepping in the air trying their best to make it from their ship toward one of the enemy ships.

They left their ship to try to counterattack against the enemy hoping that they alone could change the course of the battle.

Their allies were suffering from such a tactic being used since they would not be there to aid them personally but it was something that had to be done.

A risk needed to be taken if there was to be any hope for any of them.

Backup would not arrive anytime soon for them so someone needed to act right away.

The Marines certainly had the kind of bravery and courage to leap head-first into danger all on their own so that a chance could be created for their allies.

The Marine landed on the ship after knocking away some cannon balls and avoiding some during their time traveling through the air using Geppo/Moon Walk.

The display of such a fighting technique showed that he was someone who trained hard in one of the available techniques that was only ever taught to those belonging to the Marines and those of the World Government.

It was usually quite rare to find someone who had the aptitude to learn among those who would be allowed to learn such techniques.

Some would only be able to learn one or two of the methods not being able to gain a proper mastery over them while some rare geniuses like Rob Lucci could gain a very high mastery over all of them resulting in him developing his unique style and techniques.

There would also be some others with high talent or exceptional physical capabilities that surpassed certain limits who could be able to replicate the techniques after seeing them performed by others and by making use of their advantages to achieve similar effects.

Some methods were more refined than others while some like Alyssia had perfected their style that surpassed the originals.

Making use of their powerful leg strength, the Marine made full use of their powerful jumps and kicks to tear through the pirates that they came up against while trying to cause damage to the ship.

Despite their best efforts, the many ships still left had begun their assault on the lone Marine ship.

Everything was looking very bad for the remaining living Marines.

Meanwhile further away was a single ship that was approaching and it was occupied by a small number of people.

Alyssia was lying comfortably with her arms resting behind her head on a chair.

She was being informed of what had been spotted ahead so she let out a yawn. "Go handle it you guys."

It was not something that seemed worthy of her acting personally and her moving into action would simply be overkill.

The moment that she gave the order, those around her started to move into action.

Everyone started to get ready for combat except for a couple of exceptions which was a fat cat with wings on its back.

The fat cat with wings was Li who never seemed to be helpful in any situation. "Mrow."

Li raised her head to look toward Alyssia before curling up again and falling back to sleep.

Seeing her actions, Alyssia let out a sigh. "So disappointing you are... what a waste of a decent Devil Fruit."

While she felt like it was a shame, Alyssia did not feel like it was that big of a tragedy.

If she felt like it then replicating it would be a possibility.

While Zoan Devil Fruits were quite difficult to replicate without a single flaw, it would be easier to create something like a large feline Devil Fruit based on the Lynx Devil Fruit.

With the level of expertise that Dr Vegapunk had, he could replicate a type of Devil Fruit but it would be considered as a failure just because he got the color wrong.

Alyssia was already progressing her research rapidly enough that she could replicate or create Devil Fruits of many different kinds almost perfectly.

Zoan Devil Fruits were a lot more difficult to accomplish for her since she had far less experience making them but she already had quite a lot of success with Zoan and Logia types.

Perhaps there would soon come a day when she would surpass Dr Vegapunk in that area so even creating a perfect Zoan copy would be a possibility and in the present, it would be possible to create a Lynx Devil Fruit with a couple of subtle differences like fur color.

After thinking about such a thing, she no longer thought about scolding Li for wasting such power and returned to her resting position. 'Hmm... I need to give some consideration toward what kind of rewards I should give those who need power.'

There were still some captives from the Blackbeard Pirates who she had not killed yet or stripped of their Devil Fruit abilities.

She studied them enough and extracted enough of their skills so they would soon outlive their usefulness.

Their abilities needed to be put to use in some way and she still wished to figure out some useful ideas for Devil Fruits that would be able to suit those of her crew.
