How can that be called a pigeon?!

There was a silence before the boy sat next to me. "Nice to meet you, anti-social dude from England. My name is Percival James, second year. I know, might be a shock considering that I look older but that's how it is. I would have extended a hand, but I doubt you would have shaken it." he said with a laugh.

I sighed; it seems he wasn't planning on leaving. "Thomas Knight, second year, and your right, I wouldn't have," I responded. But I heard a gasp which made me turn my head towards him.

"Y-You're a second year? Why do you look so old man?" he asked with a look of disbelief. There was even a small trace of pity.

"Was it the stress? Have you been under prolonged amounts of stress?" he asked, even more traces of pity could be seen as if he was convincing himself with his words. I gnashed my teeth at his remarks.

Through clenched teeth, I responded, "No, I simply grow fast." I lied.

"PFFFT! Sure, because anyone with a single brain cell would believe your words mate." He said while laughing. I really wanted to punch him. Just once… no, that might kill him, he looks fragile. I ignored him and silently sat there waiting for departure.

The elderly couple that had been sitting there stood up and walked toward the middle of the elevated stone stage. They stretched their hands in front of them and the pigeons rushed forward. This caught the attention of everyone.

I could see awe and excitement on their faces. But I didn't understand why, weren't they just pigeons? But my questions were soon answered. As if passing through an invisible wall the pigeons began to transform. Their heads grew and changed colour to a deep blue, razor-sharp teeth appeared, their necks elongated, their wings grew in proportion to their increasingly large bodies. By the time they were done transforming, a 25-foot long blue dragon came into view.

I couldn't help by gape at the sight. Those things were originally pigeons? What in the actual fuck?! 5 of them sprang forth and danced in the air as they roared under the sudden applause and cheers of the students. Even annoying pants who sat next to me clapped.

"I was shocked into a stupor when I first saw it. you seem to be taking it better." He said as he looked over at me. I didn't respond, if only he knew my poker skills were top notch. I continued to watch the dragons fly for a while before they Descended in front of a small carriage that had appeared out of nowhere. I didn't question how the students would fit since it was definitely an expansion charm like the one seen at the quidditch tournament in the fourth movie.

"Everyone, you can start making your way over now." Said Professor Brambleton who stepped out of the carriage while holding the door open.

I wanted to find a room all to myself so I couldn't afford to wait around till the end. With that thought in mind, I got up swiftly and made my way over with brisk steps. Percival was still behind. Luckily, I got there pretty quickly and was one of the first to arrive at the carriage.

As I went to step in, I was once again glared at by the professor. It was starting to piss me off.

"Do we have a problem?" I asked, staring at him straight in the eye. He was surprised and caught off guard. And apparently, he wasn't expecting me to talk to him in such a way since he was tongue-tied. I clicked my tongue and hopped into the carriage without giving him a second look.

I did nothing wrong and was already marked by a teacher. It seems I had no affinity with potions classes. That was two schools in a row where the potions teacher dislikes me for no apparent reason.

As soon as I stepped in, it was just like I had expected. Massive, long corridors with red carpet, candles adorning the walls, paintings that moved and wooden doors leading to rooms evenly spaced out with numbers on them. There were three lights on the door which puzzled me.

Seeing my puzzled expression, Percival smiled and explained, "green means it's empty, yellow means it's occupied but the people inside are willing to share and red means it's full or not willing to share."

"Thanks," I said while nodding before making my way through the maze-like corridors in search of an empty room.

"This is going to be a headache to traverse when we need to get out," I thought out loud.

"Nah, see those candles?" he voiced, I turned in the direction he was pointing at.

"They blink green when we arrived telling you where to go. You don't get lost in here." He said with a smile. it seems he did prove to have some use. We continued to walk silently until we found a room that was empty. As soon as I walked in, I immediately close the door and locked it.

'Finally-'

"aren't you going to sit down?" a voice sounded from behind me. I stiffly turned my head to find the same midget looking at me innocently. How annoying! I couldn't help but sigh in defeat and sit opposite him.

"Since you seem to have no intention of leaving, I guess we should start again," I said before stretching out my hand. It was better to be on good terms when stuck with someone. Lest he becomes more annoying than before.
