"Don't be so dramatic. I meant how do I get someone to be my friend," he said but that didn't put his mother at ease. When was his son ever interested in making friends?
She even had to force him to have that birthday party and even then he was so quiet that one wouldn't think it was his party.
"A girl?" she asked with her eyes squinting at him.
Luo Muchen felt so exasperated at this moment. Why did he even bother to tell his mother about this? She always said he could ask her anything but now she was making him feel bad for asking for help.
"Forget I ever mentioned it," he said and Miss Luo realised he was withdrawing back into his turtle shell thus she hurriedly said,
"Wait wait wait. I suggest you befriend their friends. Yes sure, you will be a friend of a friend but it brings you closer."
Luo Muchen's brow arched having found out that his mother was pretty smart. With so much dating history how could she not have great advice under her sleeve?
"That's a pretty solid idea. Have you used it before?" he asked his mother and Miss Luo's body froze before she broke into nervous laughter,
"No... no no. I could never."
The words I am lying were clearly written on her face but Luo Muchen didn't force it. He was more focused on how to win Bo Ailun's friendship. Actually, it was way easier to get to Bo Ailun.
He liked two things. He loved games and food. Give him those two things and you will be good friends and that was enough to get him access to Qie Xieling.
Qie Xieling had no idea that he was being plotted against. In fact, he was busy doing business with year two and acquired twenty glitter cannons behind his dads' back.
Let's just say it might or might not have something to do with Wen Danzhe. Having successfully made the transaction he was in a pretty good mood.
"Why do you have a red ribbon on your school bag?" asked Bo Ailun while tugging at it.
Qie Xieling turned his head to look at it and said, "Oh, I found it in the car and tied it on my backpack for fun."
What he didn't know was that his father had been looking for that ribbon ever since. This was the ribbon that a certain someone tied him up with when they did it in the car on Valentine's Day and now it was missing.
Qie Xieling's steps suddenly paused at the classroom door as a very bad idea crept up his mischievous brain of his.
"Hey Chubs, have you been to a wedding?" he asked and Bo Ailun who had never been was a little confused and couldn't understand where Qie Xieling was taking this conversation.
"No, why?" he replied and Qie Xieling pulled the ribbon before saying,
"I have. It was my uncle Machu's wedding and to make sure the couple never separates, heaven being the witness they tie them up with a red string. Do you see where I am going with this?"
While saying this he nudged his head in Luo Muchen's direction.
"Oh ho ho. I think Bi Yu will forever be grateful," he said and Qie Xieling couldn't agree more.
"Do you still have the extra glitter cannon?" he asked and Bo Ailun giggled while taking it out. Let's just say Bo Ailun was his enabler. He was like that voice in one's head, instead of reasoning with him it would be talking him into doing that thing he shouldn't be doing.
With this pair remaining unchecked they would undoubtedly become a menace and headache to the teachers.
Bi Yu was asking Luo Muchen a question when all of a sudden her wrist was tied by a red ribbon together with Luo Muchen's hand. In a tone like that of a wedding officiator, Qie Xieling said, "As heaven be the witness let these two remain deskmates forever and let no man break this bond," and with a loud pop the glitter cannon exploded attracting the rest of the class.
"By the power vested in me I pronounce you deskmate and desk-," he said while Bo Ailun was clapping behind the deskmates.
Luo Muchen interrupted him with a serious look on his face. "I object," he said and Bi Yu who was ecstatic suddenly felt crestfallen.
"You can't object. It's too late. Everybody saw it," said Qie Xieling his hand on Luo Muchen's desk unconsciously touching his things.
Luo Muchen took his books away and asked, "Why do you even have a glitter cannon anyway?"
Qie Xieling's eyes widened as he straightened his back pulling his hands away from Luo Muchen's desk.
"What glitter cannon? Don't talk nonsense," he said only for explosive sounds of more than a dozen glitter cannons popping to come from year two's classroom.
Luo Muchen, "..."
What did Qie Xieling do this time? He followed Qie Xieling with his eyes as the kid went back to sit trying to act all innocent.
Soon the class door opened and a stout teacher covered in pink glitter walked in. The entire classroom stifled their laughter while the teacher scanned the classroom for Qie Xieling who was hiding behind his textbooks.
Having set his eyes on his target the teacher yelled, "Qie Xieling, come out for me."
Qie Xieling pursed his lips and got up reluctantly. Just as he stepped out the teacher pointed at Bo Ailun and said, "You too."
The two of them had to listen to an earful but because they hadn't directly pulled the trigger, just supplied the firearms they didn't have to clean up.
It was year two's homeroom teacher's birthday and the class thought this would be a memorable way to celebrate their teacher's birthday. It was memorable alright.
By the time they came back to class, it was already break time. Because Qie Xieling had to use the bathroom he came back to class a little later than Bo Ailun.
When he sat back down break time was almost over. He turned to Bo Ailun for a snack and like a good friend he passed him a chocolate chip cookie.
Qie Xieling took a casual bite but after chewing twice he froze. That's because these weren't the usual cookies Bo Ailun carried around. They were too good. As though uncertain, he took another bite and then another one.
"Good?" asked Bo Ailun and Qie Xieling nodded his head his eyes teary. This was so good.
Bo Ailun smiled happily before saying, "I got them from Muchen."
Qie Xieling, 'WTF'
