Making A Deal With The Devil

Xue Luli was conflicted. She didn't want to sign something that would kick her out of her children's life for good.

She was really frustrated. She had no money to hire a lawyer and even if she did, did she really have the guts to take this matter to court?.

As she was thinking about these things, the man in front of her was staring at her intensely trying to figure out if the person in front of him was really Xue Luli.

She might not have noticed it, but this was the first time she said more than two words to him since they got married. Of course, he didn't mind that because even if they never knew each other from the beginning, at least they were on the same page.

No one should expect anything from the other person. At the beginning of their marriage, they maintained this rule perfectly but now that there were children involved, it was now extremely difficult to maintain that rule.

Did he blame her?, No.

Xue Luli was just eighteen when she came to the capital. She didn't know anyone or anything. She was just a slave following his master's orders.

Even though she was raised in the village, she also had her own dreams that she wanted to pursue but this marriage put a stop to that. She must've been extremely confused at that moment and probably still is.

"How about we make a deal?" Lu Jinhai proposed.

Xue Luli was a bit stunned.

"What deal?" Xue Luli asked.

Lu Jinhai brought out a cigarette, placed it in his mouth and lit it up.

"I will let you meet the kids anytime you want. I won't stop you but they'll have to stay with me" Lu Jinhai answered.

"Then, what's in it for you?" Xue Luli asked.

A dangerous smile appeared on the corner on his lips. He blew out the smoke from his mouth in an charming manner. The smoke covered half of his face but Xue Luli could still see his emotionless eyes. There was no doubt in her mind that she was making a deal with the devil.

"I don't know. I haven't thought about it yet"

Xue Luli didn't need to think much. She agreed to it.

" Ok...thank you"

"Don't you think that's a bit foolish?" Lu Jinhai asked. This woman just agreed to it thinking it through.

" Yes...I know. But I know you won't ask me to do something stupid" Xue Luli answered with a smile on her face.

" Really?" Lu Jinhai asked with a bit of amusement.

Xue Luli walked up to him

"Yes" she said confidently.

"Whether you admit it or not there's a part of you that pities me for some reason....and I don't know why. Though I'm not sure if it's pity or..." Xue Luli didn't finish her statement. She just smiled and left.

For some reason, he felt he had just proposed a deal to a little devil.
