Her Disappearance

(From Evan's Perspective)

The number of mages was almost frightening, but not impossible to defeat them. However, I was getting tired. I needed a little help and it would be easy. But Flint had gone to take Blue out. She was the priority. Even if Flint had been with me, even if we were winning, it would be of no use if someone went and captured her. Who knew what they would do with her?

I could imagine the master of the magic tower plucking her beautiful blue eyes out for decoration. The thought sent shivers through my spine.

I held my hands forward, letting bursts of flame and black strings play in the air. They wrapped around the mages' bodies and strangled them. I broke into sweats. I did not lose concentration. I needed to defeat them. I knew I could.

'Just a little more. Just a little more,' I repeated in my head. 'Keep pushing further. You can do it.'
