Three days later, a group of people gathered at the cemetery.
The funeral was sweet sorrow, for in those moments of raw pain, when it feels as if the loving self screams in silent anguish, there are the memories of the good times that come as a blossoming spring meadow.
Sora gazed around. He saw one family, brought together, to mourn for one of our own. Countless numbers of dark figures stand on parade, speaking in unison to pay our respects to the dead.
The sadness also infected Sora, the gloomy atmosphere corrupting his inner soul seeing the eyes of those whose family, friends were lost. Shedding their tears, the eyes of the deceased family fixed upon the noble man in black, in the vain hope that there would be life in him once again.
He stared outside in the deepest of depression.
"Human life is still so fragile. We live in the space between one breath and the next. We often try to maintain an illusion of permanence, through what we do, say, wear, buy, how we enjoy ourselves and who and how we love. Yet it is an illusion that is constantly being undermined by change and death."
"Oh, that's an interesting thing to say Sora, do you think human life is fragile too?"
Orochimaru wearing black somber clothes stood aside and asked Sora.
At first, he was interested in Sora due to his prowess at his age, his genius, and his maturity during the mission. But now, hearing the words said by Sora, his eyes couldn't help but brighten as Sora's words resonated with him.
Looking at the dark and depressing atmosphere in the cemetery, where there is an occasional cry.
Sora glanced at Orochimaru. Orochimaru should have obtained the impure world technique at this time.
For the sake of longevity and eternity, he understands the fragility of life better than anyone else. The death of his parents while he was young, along with his horror for Tsunade losing Nawaki and later shedding tears when she lost Dan, made him grow a disdain for the fragility of human life and how it affected those still living, which led him to desire immortality.
"Life is a spell so exquisite that everything conspires to break it. Like the dew hanging delicately on the grass, crystal drops that will be carried away on the first-morning breeze. Maybe in a few decades lying there will be me, you, and others."
Orochimaru also agreed with his views but was noncommital," I don't want to lie here and be mourned and be forgotten in the river of time."
"No one wants to, and neither do I. As they say, Everything that is not eternal is worthless to eternity."
"Maybe you and I will have a common pursuit. You can come to me anytime if you have any problems," said Orochimaru as he chuckled.
Sora's eyes also showed a light of thinking. He and Orochimaru, in a sense, are indeed the same kind of people.
Self-centered, the interests of the village are not placed at the highest level.
Seeing the white-haired boy thinking, Orochimaru walked away.
'Interesting Kid. Everything that is not eternal is worthless to eternity, Huh!, that's true that's why I desire immortality.'
....
After the funeral, Sora returned to his home. He undressed and took a dip in the tub.
The water rippled as he sat down in the tub. As the water calm down and seeing his face reflected.
He activated his mystic eyes of death perception as he glanced at the familiar beautiful face reflected in the water. Lines seemed to emerge all over the space, tub, and air.
These eyes gave him strength but they also made him aware of the fragility of the world.
Sometimes seeing death, he couldn't even stand... It's like the world on the moon, a desolate wasteland. Being able to see the "death" of things means being forced to see the world's uncertainty and fragility. The ground is like it's not there, and the sky seems about to fall at any moment. You don't know of the illusion that the whole world could perish in an instant.
So, Sora felt strongly about the fragility of human life especially after seeing his friend's experience. Only by being truly strong and taking control of his destiny, can he truly live a life with no regrets.
