He’d annoyed his brother? Alex swallowed a smile.
“Why is that so surprising?” Ran took back his phone, looked at the screen for a moment, and then put it away.
“It isn’t, actually.” It was obvious from the picture that his brother’s executive secretary was athletic, but what surprised him was Ran’s pride in the younger man’s accomplishment. Alex decided a little obfuscation was called for. “I guess I’m still picturing Felicia as your right-hand woman. How did you learn about the Warrior Dash?”
“He came in the following Monday so battered I was afraid he’d been the victim of a gay bashing.”
“So he’s gay. That’s interesting.”
“What’s so interesting about it? Lots of people are gay.”
“This is true, but they don’t work for you, and you don’t find them cute.” God, he loved teasing his big brother. He so seldom had the opportunity.
“Who said anything about cute?”
“Going by that picture…Don’t you think so?”
“Yes, of course, but…Jesus, Alex, you’re supposed to be helping me.”
