“Guh,” Casey groaned. “That feels amazing after being outside like that. My ears feel like they’re ready to pop off.”
“That’s what happens when you don’t wear a hat,” Kellan said, taking off his own woolen cap.
Casey shrugged. “I was hoping the wig would keep me warm enough.”
“Girl, you should know better by now.”
“Yeah, well, a hat wouldn’t have worked with this outfit anyway. Maybe some white fuzzy earmuffs though…” Casey reached under his wig to scratch at his naturally spice-brown hair. “I think I dislodged a clip. Something itches, but I’m not about to take out the whole thing.”
“While you fix that, I’ll get something for your leg.”
“Okay,” Casey said. “And you might want to clean up your face while you’re at it. Not that you’re bleeding that much, but you’ve got a big smudge across half your face and it…frankly it looks weird.”
“Weirder than Jade’s outfit from that Evanescence number?”
