Chapter 6

The Next Day

(Fans: More like the next season of the year, where have you been ya deadbeat!?)

(Author: Rude, and I've been reading other fics. I have some recommendations actual-)

(Fans: WE DO NOT CARE. Just get to writing, chump!)]

(Coryxcooking fans, are you getting deja vu?)

Elias woke up staring at a ceiling. From one glance he could tell how luxurious it was, and the gold chandelier didn't do anything to take him away from that idea.

"Bruce Wayne?"

Elias thought out loud as he sat up and looked around. He saw a purple led umbrella on the wall and immediately knew who it was.

"Nope, Mr. Cobblepot."

He was a little hopeful that it was Bruce Wayne and he would finally be out of his.....situation....and he and his mo-

"Mom.....*sobs*.....*sniff*"

He suddenly remembered what happened. He had hoped it was a dream, but him being in the Penguins club meant he definitely wasn't dreaming.

*click* *squeak*

"Damn, we need some oil on these doors, aye?"

A chubby small man walked into the room.

"Mr. Cobblepot?"

I immediately recognized him as Penguin. The man who I payed for mine, and my mothers protection for the last few years.

"Rise and shine, go getter. And wipe those tears off your face. I have a proposition for you, and I want to speak to the young man I know, and not some snotty nosed kid."

I was a little surprised by what he said, but then I realized he was right. I had to make something of myself to honor my mother's death. Not cry and mope over it, while I rot somewhere in a corner of Gotham.

*wipe* "Ok, Mr. Cobblepot, what is the proposition?"

He grinned as he nodded his head before he pulled out a folder with a contract inside of it. He tossed it onto the bed next to me. I picked it up and scanned over it for a few minutes. I then understood what his proposition was. I work for him and bring in money for 3 years. I get a 70% cut, protection, free access to his club and it's services, and a home. I didn't see any problems in it except for one small catch. I had to work for him no questions asked, and always respond if he had any specific jobs he wanted me to do. As I was deep in thought I failed to realize he had already left the room. Soon I looked up, and noticed. And as I did I got a notification from the system.

"Main Quest: Choose Your Path."

Villain

or

Hero

or

Vigilante

You Have 30 Seconds To Choose The Path Of Your Life.

If You Don't Want To Choose Either, Please Let It Be Known, And You Can Be A Regular Citizen....But The System Will No Longer Help You.

And as I thought being a citizen came with a catch. Fine. Villain, Hero, or Vigilante. I definitely don't want to be some lapdog for the Justice League. But I have to honor my mother at least. Also being a vigilante would be too complicated.

So Hero, Or Villain.

(Author: I say we let the readers choose?)
