Ch 22 - Act

Di Fengling raised his head to look at the person who interuppted them with a face masked with displeasure.

All the people currently inside the study room were important people and he was having a very important discussion with them.

Yet, someone dared to interrupt them at the moment, and that too without knocking on the door.

Di Fengling was very infuriated with such behavior. He saw his dear daughter entering the study without realizing what she had done.

He berated her angrily. "Difuya, just what do you think you're doing? Can't you see we're busy here?!"

"But father..." Difuya tried to speak but Di Fengling waved his hand, urging her to leave. "I don't have time for your childish tantrums right now so go and play outside."

Difuya was very sad by his words. First, she was disrespected by Jason and now even her own father had no interest in listening to her. Tears welled up in her eyes, threatening to bring a rainfall.

Di Fengling saw that Difuya hadn't moved. His face contracted in anger as he addressed Niya. "Niya, take Difuya outside."

"Please, calm down, Your Majesty." Xiao Yunchen smiled and tried to diffuse Di Fengling's anger.

Admiral Zhou had sharp eyes and he instantly realized that something was wrong with Difuya. He asked quickly. "Difuya, what happened? Did that little rascal bully you? Don't worry, I'll break his legs later."

Watching at least one of the people supporting her, Difuya burst into tears, crying.

At this moment, Niya greeted them with a bow and recited all the events that occurred a few minutes ago.

After listening to their story, the four of them were left dumbfounded, looking at each other.

From a certain point of view, Jason wasn't in the wrong but from another point of view, he shouldn't have made a move against the Princess.

Tang Guosheng caressed his beard and smiled. "Don't worry, Princess. After the event is over, we will bring the chef here and ask him to apologize to you. But you have to be a little patient till then since we can't ruin this big feast."

Tang Guosheng's plan was pretty good. Since by that point, Difuya would calm down by that point and it would be easy to diffuse the situation.

"Prime Minister Sir is right. I should really have to apologize for putting my nose where it doesn't belong."

However, at that exact moment, Jason appeared inside the study. He greeted everyone with a smile and reported to Di Fengling that everything was ready for the event.

Di Fengling nodded his head and asked. "Nie Li, do you really scold my daughter?"

Jason smiled and shook his head. "Scolding is a bit too much, Your Majesty. I was just being kind enough to give some advice to the princess regarding life but alas... I apologize Princess but it looks like you've chosen your path."

He turned to Di Fengling and smiled bitterly, feeling pity for the kind emperor. "I feel sorry for Your Majesty."

"Hmm... what do you mean by that?" Tang Guosheng's eyes shone with a sharp light and he asked curiously.

Even Xiao Yunchen and Zhou Shuiniu seemed interested in that sentence while Di Fengling was puzzled, asking.

"Why do you say that?"

Jason smiled and said. "I never told you, Your Majesty. But I can read the fate of people."

"What?!"

"R-Really?"

All of the people inside the room couldn't refrain from shouting as they jumped to their feet, staring at Jason with gaping mouths.

Jason raised his hand and said. "I ask you guys to refrain from asking about your fate since knowing the secrets of heaven will bring catastrophe to you guys."

Di Fengling and everyone froze and were left dumbfounded. They were just about to ask Jason to read their fate but he already saw through them.

"Then why do you...?" Xiao Yunchen muttered.

Jason smiled and continued. "I can read your fate and show you a path. As for walking on it, only you can do it. His majesty has been kind to me so I just want to help his daughter from a tragic fate but alas... she is too stubborn."

He glanced at Difuya and his eyes shone with a bright light. "Just remember Princess, one day your arrogance and pride will be shattered completely and the decision you take on whims now will cost you everything... You will be left with nothing in the end."

Difuya shuddered by his cold words, her body trembling in fear. She could feel that the handsome man in front of her wasn't just messing with her. His words contained a profound meaning to them.

The world seemed to revolve in a circle in front of her eyes as her dreams shattered into pieces as darkness covered her vision.

"Princess!"

"Difuya!!"

Di Fengling and Niya shouted simultaneously as they watched Difuya fainting.

Jason caught her, saving her from hitting the ground, and passed her to Niya.

"Don't worry. She is just tired. Let her rest for today."

Niya was dumbfounded and turned to Di Fengling who nodded his head. She sighed and picked the princess gently, bringing her to her room.

"Thank you, Nie Li. But will it be alright?"

Just as they left, Di Fengling bowed to Jason and expressed his gratitude. Yet, his brows were furrowed in worry.

Jason smiled at him and cupped his hands. "Your Majesty, you have believed in me so do not worry, nothing will happen to your daughter... And you are up for a big surprise tomorrow."

Di Fengling took a deep breath and nodded his head, still a little worried for his daughter. "Then I'll wait for tomorrow."

"Your majesty, what is...?" Zhou Shuiniu was confused, asking his dear friend.

Tang Guosheng smiled and explained. "Admiral Zhou, everything that happens just now is a little play directed by His Majesty and Mister Nie Li for the sake of Princess Difuya."

"Then what just happened...?" Xiao Yunchen pointed at the door and muttered.

"It's all part of my plan," Jason smirked and shrugged his shoulder. "His Majesty asked for my help regarding his daughter so I proposed this method to him... And as you can see, it's quite effective."

"Then, you cannot... read fate?"

"Even if I can, I'll never reveal it to anyone since it will bring trouble for that person. Controlling fate is equal to going against the will of the heaven and it will not tolerate such an existence." Jason explained.

"Now, Your Majesty has to give one last push." Jason glanced at Di Fengling and said with a serious expression.

Di Fengling furrowed his brows and asked lightly. "Do we really have to do that?"

Jason smiled lightly and spoke, assuring him.

"No need to worry, Your Majesty. Since you have decided to put your faith in my plan, please listen to me... rather than forcing a relationship onto the two of them, letting things play out naturally will be much more effective."
