David's injuries

Catherine wanted to know how did David got injured to the point of life-threatening. because no matter how much worry she shows for her husband, even she knows that her husband is strong, stronger than anyone.

She gently put her hands on David's hand and asked him "Please tell me what happened? how did you get injured? You even lost your consciousness? Do you know how worried I was back then when Galena said she couldn't save you?" 

I also want to know how he got those injuries. After all, I saw his sword skills with my own eyes and he has good control over his blade and has some high-level technique. That's why his opponent had to be very strong to put him into that miserable state.

He didn't say anything and tried to keep quiet but after Catherine's repeated pestering, he finally gave up and speak his mind and said. " …we were attacked by a group of monsters."

He did not clearly describe what type of monster attacked them, though this village is close to Azazel forest, however for many years no strong monsters appeared near the village, that is why Catherine pondered for a moment in confusion and then she asked "What kind of monsters? "

" ….pighead monster."

When David finally mentioned the monster's name the atmosphere inside the house became dead silent. I can see Catherine's face turn pale when David said that name, on the other hand, I had no idea what it is.

"You mean those ugly monsters that destroy villages and capture all females to rape them brutally?" Catherine started to mumble about how they havoc and massacre all.

He calms her down and continues to tell her, he further explains " When we were patrolling around the village we saw them. They were trying to get inside the village. We decided to attack them and tried to kill them on the spot so they don't get any time to call their comrades if they had any?"

"How many were they?" Catherine asked.

David followed her question and told her while scratching his cheeks, "They were four that's why we had to take down them with a surprise attack. At that time they were busy trying to destroy the fence, we slowly get close to them, they did not notice that we are behind them. after we take our position we launched our attack on them from behind.

(David P.O.V)

Leon finally came back from her wife's village, he came here to us, we were patrolling and decided to accompany us when we saw some pigheads who are trying to sneak inside the village.

I swiftly beheaded and killed one of them instantly but other guards were not as skilled as I'm so they get noticed before they could land a hit on them. I have to kill the next pighead as fast as possible and help them otherwise they will die.

One pighead is already down and the other two pigheads are handled by the other two and I am fighting the remaining one. The pighead is holding a big wooden club.

He started attacking me with his club, his swing is so powerful that if even a single of his attacks hit me then I'm a goner. but although those attacks are powerful but also slow so I had some time when he attacked me again I dodge in left and go between his legs and sliced his head from behind.

Fighting two pighead is very tiring but I still have to help my comrades since they are still fighting and they are probably in bad condition.

When I approached them one of my comrades was about to get stabbed by a pighead I tried to beheaded him but he saw me and swing his sword towards me vigorously but I did not stop and sent his head flying because of my recklessness he was also able to stab me but we can't afford to rest because there still one left but my body is heavily injured and my vision is getting hazy and I see the last pighead running into the forest after that everything becomes dark and I lost consciousness.

"Wi-Will they come again," Catherine asked in shuttering sound.

" I don't know…. " David replied with tension and confusion.

The pighead monster they are talking about is probably Orc but I can't be 100 percent sure since I never saw them before. The situation right now is not good at all. The last orc is run away what if he has more comrades they might come again and attack this village. I don't know how much more time we have left.

"if I had been  more careful then nothing would have happened and we don't have to worry about them." David clenched his fist and said.

"Don't blame yourself you did your best, you are injured so just sleep for now we will think of something tomorrow," Catherine said this to comfort him but I do not agree with her because even if you have to leave your opponent alive then make his life so miserable that he would not able to do anything.

But Catherine, you don't have to worry about a thing I will take care of his leftover by tonight. If that monster has any companion then I will hunt them down and killed them mercilessly.

But first, there is something very important that I need to confirm.
