Chapter 46

As snow drifted past the window, Jason stared out the window. Since the shooting, well the one involving Liz, weeks past in a blink of his eyes. They passed by and before he even realized it, Jason realized that his first semester of college came to an end. Something he was going to drop from, as at first he was interested but as time passed on that interest died off.

Showing up to class, rushing out, gaining the annoyed look of not only the professor but a few other students. It was safe to say while college was an experience, but he discovered it wasn't for him...again. So he decided to drop out which came as no surprise.

"It has been fairly lacking in events lately?" Jason mumbled.

For a while events with a new hero raising his head would come every few weeks or once or twice a month. However, now it was like everyone went on holiday as even bigger criminals didn't come out and play. Since his symbol was becoming more and more active around the world, all the criminals ducked their heads into the ground.

'When will they pop out again?' Jason wondered as he knew the current state won't last forever.

As the snow drifted in front of his eyes, Jason looked out across the city thinking. He suddenly got the feeling, it wouldn't be long before his previous thought came true. The world was marvelous after all.

--

In the arctic, a team of scientists and workers were carefully exploring what appeared to be a crashed plane from world war 2. As they swept away the snow and ice, they soon discovered a round shield with a large white star with red and blue rings. Next to it, they discovered a muscular man frozen, yet no signs of decay.

"Holy. I think he is still alive?"

"Impossible."

--

In a third location, inside a small jail cell. A teen could be seen doing push ups in an attempt to shave off his boredom. Sitting on a chair on the other side of the cell door, a bald man sat patiently as he stroked his white beard. He wore a military suit and by the numerous badges on his chest, he was fairly high ranked.

"Todd, I have reached a deal." The man spoke neither fast nor slow but clearly. "You will serve in the military to serve out the rest of your sentence."

"Thanks grandfather." Todd smirked.

"I wouldn't be thanking me." The man spoke before leaving.

Once outside, he pulled out his phone and what appeared on screen is an infamous symbol. In a red circle a skull appeared with six legs as he dialed the phone. Once it connected a heavily modified voice came from the other end.

"It is done."

"Good," and with that a soft click was heard as the line disconnected.

"Hail Hydra." The bald man whispered lightly.

Sitting down a pair of coffee cups, while Lala was busy with writing a few letters, Felicia is currently in the middle of politely refusing a dinner. From what he heard, it is one of the sons of one of the business partners that transports and distributes the healing pods across the globe. From the tone the otherside was making, it was clear he didn't take it nicely.

After a few threatening words and a promise of cutting off the deal. The phone was hung up much to Felicia's relief. Rubbing her face as she leaned back in her chair, she crossed out a name of a small list with numbers next to them.

The list contained a few large and small businesses interested in a partnership. Since the Healing pods were basically near perfect a money tree to invest in. There is a line up for a branch and even a few that wanted a piece of their other research. After running a few background checks and a bit of research. A list of shady or shell companies were discovered, thus the rejection list was created.

"I thought your hair was blonde?" Jason asked as he looked at Felicia platinum white hair.

"I usually dye it." She replied. "Why? Do you not like my natural hair?"

"He likes it," Lala commented from the side. "He has a thing for unique hair."

"Really? I'm not going to find a lock of my hair in his possession then?"

"Please don't make me sound like some serial killer." Jason covered his heart dramatically. "I would worry more about you waking up in my bed."

"Lala, your boyfriend sucks at flirting." Felicia commented lightly. "Also he is trying to bring me to his bed. You better keep an eye on him."

"I trust him to keep his hands where they belong." Lala answered her.

--

As time passed, Jason was scrolling through videos slightly bored. The video he helped Lala film was doing fairly well, but since then. She sort of gave up her idea of film making, thus leaving it at a one video channel.

"Home chef vs pro chef. I wonder if I can do something like a podcast?" He mumbled to himself as he watched a pro chef make a delicious looking pizza with cheap ingredients.

While it was a silly idea that came from a completely unrelated topic. It did spark some interest from him and he decided to try it out. He is young and it is always recommended to try something new. Thinking about it, he already had an idea for the first series to do.

Since the healing pods were a hot topic, he could do an interview with Lala. It would be interesting to see the reactions as a few news and journalists tried to interview her in the past. Only they were politely escorted away or rejected.

'It would also be a good chance to advertise the lab. Even if 'Kelly' is an agent, she has proven that having others working is indeed useful. So promoting the lab and advertising they are willing to fill a few spots could be useful.' Jason rubbed his chin.

Deciding on a game plan, Jason nodded to himself for being brilliant.
