Danny was frantic. He rushed from one room to another and then double-checked the grounds. Bella and his sister had vanished. He had to find them. Mary could look after Bowen. Finding his way back to town, he spent over an hour thoroughly checking every shop, and behind every cottage and building, pretending to be as casual as he possibly could. Ultimately, he made his way back to where he’d started. After rechecking Bella’s car, he went to the last place he could think of.

“Catherine! Hello!” he called as he made his way around the stones. “Bella!”
