Why Now?

"Bowen!" Captain David exclaimed at the Lieutenant's sudden outburst.

Bowen's veins on forehead and neck were bulging due to anger. His face and ears had turned red. If the General had given him permission then he would have gone to Kermurkheim alone and would have tried to wreak havoc on that planet.

Whether he would have been successful to do that or not was a different matter, but Bowen would have tried his best.

Bowen gritted from between his teeth to the Captain, "I am sorry Captain. But I am not among those who would just wait and watch while the enemy slaughters our people." Bowen glared at the General as if those words were directed to him.

The Lieutenant glanced at everyone in the meeting and then kept forth his suggestion, "I say we go there with our best fighters and fastest crafts, and then make them pay for what they did to our crews."
