The Way Forward

A splitting headache became Princess Ruby's companion since that day at the river with Prince Seth. She had gone back home and had kept to herself, which was very much unlike the outgoing, jovial, and wild-spirited princess.

Ruby's countenance didn't go unnoticed by Greta who cared for her deeply. 

"My Princess... what is the matter?", Greta had asked that evening after Ruby's return.

Ruby walked past her as if she ignored Greta. But in truth, Ruby hadn't heard her. 

The princess's head felt like more than two people were talking... it felt as if she was carrying the whole universe on her shoulders.

Ruby quietly walked into her room, taking each step carefully.

Greta watched her with her mouth open. [My Princess], she thought. 

The happiness that had gathered from Anthony's proposal was overshadowed by the concern and worry she felt at that moment. Greta had never seen Princess Ruby in such a state.
