System, why didn't the Rank 5 Mana Core gave me as much power as I thought it would be?!

<They 4 were old, Mana Cores lose their mana over time, these two had been sitting for almost a thousand years. Over they lost 90% of original reserves… but still better than normal Cores, you should be able to reach Peak Stage in Rank after evolving…>

I see… I guess the path is really an arduous one, huh… Should I eat the other Mana Cores of Rank 4?
