Despite my best efforts I couldn't help falling asleep, it's always hard getting sleep right after a jump, especially now that I'm leaving Xoxia and pretty much hiding from Vern.
I wake up muttering apologies to Jane for resting my heavy head on her shoulders. She waves it off with a smile and reassures me that nothing suspicious has occurred while I was knocked out.
"What's happened then? We've just been driving?" I ask, scrubbing my eyes.
Jane nods, "The checkpoints have made it a bit difficult making headway, and according to the driver this is light compared to any other day, I guess the explosion Uptown's been great as a distraction."
The Uptown explosion, there's still no news on that, at least it's what I've bothered checking my band with since I dozed off. But even without confirmation, the aching in my gut tells me Vern was a part of it, I hope he's alright.
