A Father’s Letter

Faith was relieved to have a guide since the palace was a labyrinth of wide corridors. Caytlin escorted her to the magnificent library and gracefully exited with a bow. Faith stared at the open door. Andrew stood on the other side, his broad shoulders covering everything else from her view. He didn't look her way.

Faith needed time to herself after the thrill of the ball, the assassin, and preparation for the impending trip through Sundac. Maybe she could relax in the library and forget about her problems there. She would be departing in two days for the tour through the villages, and she would wager she wouldn't have much time to spare.

She still got goosebumps thinking about that dagger and the damage the sharp blade could have done. Thankfully, she had only lost a few drops of blood and maybe some chunks of hair. Nothing notable or irreplaceable. But still…
