After running for another 4-5 hours Nie Li observed that the sky is turning darker, 'I should take some rest, I have already travelled 5 days worth of journey after sprinting till now. At my speed, I should be able to reach the ruins by tomorrow'. The constant physical drill has fatigued him, he decided to take a longer rest than before today, and reach his peak level.

In the silent night.

Nie Li is currently practising while sitting cross-legged on a huge tree branch. Gradually entering into the meditation state, his soul realm is also in a very calm state.

Operating the [Heavenly Anarchy Technique], the heaven and earth energies around began to converge in Nie Li's body. His soul force continued growing constantly.

The process of mediation gives a strange calmness and relief to Nie Li, away from all the thinking and mind-games he can immerse into his own self, searching for salvation.

Slight breeze whistling pass, the night became increasingly quiet.

Under Nie Li's control, the soul force hovered around the body. The muscles throughout the body began to tremble in a rhythm and growing stronger. He could fell great chaotic energy pouring into him, it was not like a corruption from a greater force but more like an embrace of a mother filled with warmth and strength. This is the effect caused by [Heavenly Anarchy Technique], able to train both the soul force and enhance the strength of the physical body together.

After a thorough check-up, Nie Li was able to finally pinpoint the reason for his impulsive disorder. It was none other than his Cultivation Technique! The Heavenly Anarchy Technique requires the practitioner to embrace his inner demons and overcome his mental obstacles, for a man like Nie Li, it's the most difficult task.

Since he started to train in this technique, he has subconsciously tried to avoid his demons opting to ignore rather than fight, this has caused deviation in his cultivation itself.

Fortunately he was able to discern it early on, if he didn't he could have succumb to deviation and even gone crazy. He has started to slowly mend himself mentally decreasing the chances of such an phenomena later on.

Leonard has been someone who also stayed firm in his decision, always filled with confidence and strong willed, but in the last years in his past life he began to question his existence and his beliefs. Although he made strong promise and tall ambition after coming to this world, he has never overcome this fear and self-doubt.

'Maybe I am not as capable as I previously thought' Nie Li stopped practising after midnight. He had to do so until the soul force is strong enough, otherwise practising in midnight would cause side effects.

Fear, what is fear? For a man like him, fear is not death, neither it is being shunned by everyone, nor is it being weak, for him fear is solitude. Not the kind where one ask for others to validate his existence but he himself not believing his path,

The world's greatest fear is solitude, the remorse of doing all for nothing. This is the reason why in his previous life, he made himself into a person who lives for his country, to his psyche he was someone who is willing to die for the 'greater good' but he maybe didn't believe this to be true actually.

The Heavenly Anarchy Technique can be fully utilised in it's true glory when the practitioner can overcome this hurdle. This can even lead them to grow by leap and bounds, soaring through the realms.

The speed of cultivation in this technique is phenomenal but Nie Li is still not able to reach that level. Fortunately, He was somehow able to find a neutral way to advance without being corrupted but it's hampering his growth by a huge margin and a small chance of loosing control due to anger and emotional turmoil is also present.

'I know what I must do but sometimes, knowing is just not enough. Maybe...' Nie Li thought as a beautiful and serene girl appeared in his mind. He was filled with a strange giddy felling even thinking about her, and this feeling just kills him. He hates this because probably he is just using someone like her as a mere tool for his benefits, 'I need to know, I need to be sure.'

Everyone in this world needs a reason to hold on to their believe and support their sanity. Nie Li doesn't have a family or a true friend to care about, he genuinely don't care about Glory city, Things like working for the betterment of people, uplifting his Aristocratic Family status, bringing justice and equal opportunity for Commoners these are good-and-all but he doesn't care about them. He has lived for the people and he had enough of that now.

He wants to be selfish and the only reason he craves strength is because he enjoy advancing, he likes cultivation.

Many may laugh and disdain his struggle as mere stupidity, He has so many things that can enable him to reach the summit of Glory City and rule the people's there, but Nie Li needs to break through this barrier.

'Everyone is not the same, they don't think the same things, they don't want the same stuff, they don't desire the same feelings. Many a time people, who become something in life doesn't have a lofty mindset or great ideals, there are merely following their path. I need to find such a path for me, something that will not make me regretful even if I fail'

Nie Li rested for the night and started his journey again at first sunlight. Walking through the mountains for almost a day, and passing through a deep canyon passage. A distant plain valley, finally, appeared in their sight.

This is a piece of relic from the ancient city. The place covered a radius of a hundred miles. Most of it was covered in dense woods, only leaving some mottled walls. The roar of demon beasts could be heard from within the ruins. The demon beasts that are above Gold rank have already left the place. What remained in the ruins were Bronze and Silver ranked Demon Beasts.

These remains from the Age of Darkness vaguely told the story of the glory of humanity at that time.

Seeing these broken walls and scattered bones lying around, Nie Li couldn't help but feel the years of desolation attached in it's former glory.

The rampant demon beasts during the Age of Darkness destroyed all of the human's empire. Only leaving behind several lucky survivors who were still struggling with the demon beasts. However, much of the knowledge and civilization has been lost in the disaster. For example, many of Glory City's cultivation techniques, martial arts, and inscription patterns are all incomplete. Therefore, it's very possible to get some stuff left behind by the Age of Darkness, if they were to explore these ancient ruins!

What Nie Li wants is to get his hands on some important left behind treasure and artifacts.
