I Think He's Dead

That was news to Nathan. Scarlett had teased Sierra rather pointedly when he brought over that Christmas present but that was months after they first met and they had been hanging out regularly by then. 

"Seriously?" he asked in disbelief.

"Yeah. She's the worst but I guess she wasn't wrong about you liking me. I was convinced you didn't," she said matter-of-factly. "When did that change, anyway?"

He wasn't sure he could pinpoint an exact moment. Obviously, that was a lost cause even if he hadn't realized it at the time. 

"I'm not sure exactly. Sometime between rock climbing and meeting May and Adrian. I knew pretty early on that I could easily end up liking you, which is why I tried backing away before that could happen. That clearly didn't work. What about you?"
