Hye-jin Halmeoni

I woke up early and refreshed myself. I got ready for my first day at work.

"Bye!!" I said and left. I walked to the place as it was quite close. Not really but yeah, a bit.

I got in soon and asked them if I can look around the place. She nodded and I walked around. The walls were decorated well and there were some handwritten things on the wall.

I entered a big room where it was filled with a lot of chairs and tables, with people seated on it.

"H-hi. I am Choi Y/n. I am here to entertain you guys." I said smiling.

But they had no expression. Well, I can't do anything. I am new to them and they are new to me. Let's see how things go. I got to the front and kept my bag down and started.

"*clears throat* Before I start, is there anything you would like to ask me?"

"I do." An old lady raised her hand.

"Go ahead." I said.

"Why are you here? No one ever comes here, and even if they come, they just leave after knowing what they have to do. What made you stay here?" She asked.

"To be honest, I really don't have anyone. My parents passed away when I was young and I grew up alone later. Then I met up with a group of friends. They were my backbone. They were my everything.... I am here, cause I thought I'd feel this as my second home. I never really knew about how it would be to be loved by parents or relatives. I hope that I could feel it here." There was a long pause as i finished.

"You are most welcomed to enter in here. We will give you all the love you haven't experienced. You are our grand-child. So are your friends. You and your friends are most welcomed."

"Ghamsamidha halmeoni, hal-abeoji (grandmother and grandfather)." I said and bowed feeling happy that they accepted me. I called them all by halmeoni and hal-abeoji cause I can't remember a lot of names and they were all the same, to me. They are my grandparents.

"So we'll start. Tell me what is your most favourite thing to do apart from knitting and reading newspaper." I asked cause I know that's what most of them would do.

"We talk a lot about each other." Hal-abeoji said.

"We have some tea and speak about kids these days. Most of them are spoilt." Halmeoni said.

"That's a lot in that case. But only talk? Nothing else? Any talents? Singing, dancing, writing?"

"I can sing, but I don't really." Halmeoni said.

"I can play the piano." Hal-abeoji said.

"You guys are all really talented. Ok, how about we start with that today. Each of you will come out and show your talent."

And this is how my first day went.

Third Person POV

While Y/n was at work, and Jin and Jimin were home, while others were at work.

Soon, Taehyung returned home with a guest.

"Hey guys. Where are the others?" He asked, as he removed his jacket and kept it aside.

"They are still at work." Jin said.

"So, this is Lee Aera, the friend I talked to you about, yesterday."

"Looks like you have already told about me." She said and smiled.

The door opened, revealing Jungkook, Hoseok and Namjoon.

"here they are!" Jimin said and they turned.

Taehyung introduced Aera to the others.

"It was nice meeting you anyways. I'll take a leave, then."

"Wait. Where is Y/n?" He asked.

"She's at work."

"Oh yeah. If you wait for sometime, you can see her."

"It's ok. I'll come by tomorrow and see her." She said.

"Ok. I'll drop you." Taehyung said.

"It's ok. I'm be fine on my own." And she left.

'I guess I'll be fine over here for sometime.' She said to herself and left.

"I'll go pick up Y/n and come." Jin said and got up and got his keys.

"Do you know the address?"

"yeah. She wrote it down for me. Anyways, I'll go ahead." He said.

"Wait! I'll also come with you." Jimin said. He nodded and they both left.

Y/n was still talking with them. She really started liking being there. She also felt entertained.

"Y/n, tell us about your friends. We really want to know about them." Halmeoni said.

"Halmeoni, I'll bring them here one day, and they themselves will tell. And that day will be soon." She said.

"Bye!! See you guys tomorrow." She said and waved. They also bid her goodbye and they started talking again.

As Y/n came out, Jin came. She smiled as she saw them. She got in and he drove.

"So, how was your first day?" Jin asked.

"It was the best! They really liked me and so did I. They are really sweet." She said happily.

"So from now on you'll also be busy?" Jimin asked.

"Dear Mochi, I am the same Y/n you were with. Even if you change, I will not change." She said.

"Yahh, why will I change?" He asked.

"How will I know? There maybe some reason or an incident may happen where you change but I don't. It may or may not happen." She said.

"Ok, stop talking shit. Nothing is gonna change. Everything will be the same." Jin said and they both just kept quiet.

Soon, they reached home and Y/n went to her room immediately and flopped on her bed. She felt really exhausted, eventhough she just talked the whole day.

She didn't know about Lee Aera yet. She had no idea that a girl had come and visited.

*two days later

In these two days, there hasn't been any sign of Aera. The others didn't mind as she might have been busy.

Y/n woke up and got ready.

''Guys, how about you guys come over today to the home?'' She asked.

''Really? Will they really like us coming there? Wouldn't it be a disturbance for them?'' Namjoon asked.

''Yahh, come on! You'll love them. And they already love you guys already.''

''Looks like you talked a lot about us there.'' Jimin said.

''If not you guys, who else? '' she said and smiled.

''Pali pali. Go get ready.'' She said and they all went to their room.

Soon they all came out and they all left together.

*at the home

''Halmeoni! Hal-abeoji! ''She said and smiled.

''Ahhh, Y/n!!! You are here! We've been waiting for you.'' Halmeoni said.

''So, this is-'' Before she could say, hal-abeoji said.

''Those 7 boys, who are your friends.'' She smiled.

''Ne. They are. Introduce yourselves.'' She said and they introduced themselves, one by one.

"It is really great meeting you guys." Halmeoni said.

"So, who's up today? Who's gonna show their talent?" She asked.

"Is this entertaining?" Yoongi asked.

"You'll soon see what is entertaining now." She said and they all waited eagerly.

Halmeoni and hal-abeoji came up. She sat by the piano and he just stood there.

Halmeoni started playing the piano and hal-abeoji started singing. They were all quiet while the guys were amazed.

It was a small song and it ended soon.

"Yahh.. Y/n! You really are a genius. Making them their entertainer. That's really wonderful." Taehyung said.

"'I'm glad you accept that I am genius." She said and smiled at him.

"Are you like this to only us or to everyone?" He asked.

"Not 'us'. Only you." She said and he just looked at her.

"I was just kidding. It's only you guys and always you guys only." She said.

"Well, that was wonderful." She turned towards them and said.

"Well Y/n, what talent do you have?" Namjoon asked.

"I haven't figured that out." She said.

"She sings really well." Halmeoni said.

"How come we didn't know that?" Jimin asked.

"Cause you haven't heard me sing." she said.

"I did." Jungkook said.

"when?" She asked.

"When you take bath. I always come to your room to get some cream but then I hear you sing, and I listen till you sing and then I'd get out of there." He said.

"So you were the one who stole my cream." She said and Jungkook realised he said her the truth.

"I-I didn't mean to take it." He said.

"I will not spare you. I'll see you at home." She said in an angry tone.

"Let's go." Jin said.

"yeah and drop me by the graveyard." Jungkook said. The others laughed and they left.

The others reached home and sat down. As they were just sitting, the bell rang. Taehyung opened the door and was happy to see Aera. He hugged her and she got in and she sat down with others and had a chat.

Y/n was busy with her work. She not only had to entertain them but also maintain a record of how everyone were doing. But there was this one lady, who hasn't talked nor participated in any other activitites.

Y/n spotted her sitting by the backyard, sipping on her tea. Y/n put down her book and headed to her. She sat beside her and cleared her throat, showing her presence.

"Halmeoni." She called her out. She didn't say anything and just turned.

"Halmeoni, what happened? You can tell me. I am a good listener." She said if that would help. But still it was in vain.

"Halmeoni, jebal. Is there anything disturbing you? Did someone tell something?" She asked. But there was no response. Y/n thought this was in vain. It won't work if she just talked.

She got up and was about to leave when she talked.

"I had a son. He was my only son." As she heard her talk, she stopped and turned and sat down beside her..

"I got married at a very young age. I just finished high school and my parents made me married. My husband left us. And he married someone else. I took care of my son and gave him all the love I could, bought him whatever I could. He also never really asked anything. There were few days which he wanted. But I tried my best to give him that." Y/n listened patiently to her.

"He fell in love with someone and I was really happy to hear that. But she didn't like my company. I gave her all the love I could but she still hated me. They both got married and they always had fights betwenn, because of me. So I decided to move out, but he didn't let me to. It started becoming worst, and he thought he'd let me at this home. He said he'll visit me weekly or monthly..." She paused.

"But it has been almost 15 years and he hasn't come back to see me. I want to see him and my grandchildren. I tried calling him but there was no response. Everyday, even now, I am sure he would come visit me atleast once. I am still living to see them. I am catching hold of my breath for them." She said.

A tear dropped as Y/n heard about her story. She has gone through a lot.

"Halmeoni, I don't know what to say. I'm sorry you had to go all through that alone." She said.

"Halmeoni, is there anything I can do, to make you feel better?" She asked.

"Y/n, only one favour. Don't leave me. Don't leave us all here. Our sons and daughters have left us here. We all haven't seen them and everyone keeps worrying about them. Some of them have hopes but some don't..... Y/n, the first time I saw you, I really liked the way you talked. From that I got to know that you wouldn't leave people like us alone. And I hope that you will do." She said and Y/n smiled weakly at her and she left.

She was into deep thinking. As halmeoni said, everyone still wait for their kids to come and see them. But she can't make everyone of them to come and see. The others might be thinking about them, but they are distracted by the others. But she, was not like them. And Y/n wanted to do something for her.

She got in the taxi and left.

Meanwhile, Aera was still there. This time she was a bit eager to meet Y/n.

Y/n was in deep thoughts. She thought she'd contact her son and ask him to come over. But she didn't know where he would be now.

She reached home and thought how to get his contact. She opened the door and just walked in without noticing anything.

"Y/n. Y/n." Hoseok called her.

"Got it!" She said and rushed to her room.

The others looked confused at her.

"She came in and went to her room. Is something wrong with her?" Taehyung asked the others, confused.

Jin got up and went to her door and knocked it.

"Sorry... I'm busy." She shouted over and Jin just left.

"I guess you heard her. She was loud enough." He said and sat back.

While, Y/n called Eun-Ae, the girl who she met the first day. She wasn't much elder than Y/n, but she would be in her twenties.

"Hello Eun unnie."

"Y/n. Did you reach home safe?"

"Ne unnie. Unnie, about Hye-jin halmeoni..." She paused, thinking how to ask.

"What about it?" Eun asked.

"Unnie, do you know where her son would be or do you have any number I could contact him?" She asked.

"Y/n, I thought something happened. Not only contact number, I'll give you his address also."

"Gomabdha unnie!" She said excited.

"Unnie, can I know his name?"

"Ahh.. wait a second. His name is..... Kim Ji-ho." She said.

"Thank you so much unnie. I really owe you a big one." She said.

"It's ok. Take care. Bye." And the call ended.

'Finally! I hope she'd be happy.' She thought and looked at her mirror table. She realised her cream was not there and then she remembered what happened morning.

"KOOKIEEEEEEE!!!" She shouted. The others heard her and Jungkook became scared. Y/n came out of the room and all she could see was Jungkook.

"I better run." He said.

"Yeah. You better." She said and started chasing him. They ran in cricles, in between the chairs and tables.

She finally caught hold of him and he fell down and Y/n climbed over him.

"Yahh.... If you've asked, I would've given you. Why do you steal it?" She asked him holding his collar.

"Yahh... You'll start teasing me then." He said. Y/n paused and rewinded what he just said.

"So what? I am not some third person. I'm your friend only know. You act like a baby." He said.

"I don't like it. Aera is better than you." He said.

"Aera? Who the hell is Aera?" She asked.

"Me." Y/n heard a voice. She turned her head and saw a female figure standing.
