Chapter 31: Fireflies

Just over one week has passed since Ashley finally managed to catch her then-anonymous mysterious savior red-handed, yet somehow she feels as though she's known him for far longer. At first, the two shared a mutual curiosity for each, Ashley had questions about what he was, where he came from, how they could even understand each other, while Colby... well, Colby had almost too many questions for Ashley's liking, yet she never snapped at him and as they days went on she grew to have a certain... fondness for the wolf-fox boy. Eventually, Ashley felt drawn to the boy but she couldn't exactly figure out why. Maybe it was the weeks of isolation suddenly being cut short, the days of solace and silence abruptly being replaced by someone who seemed to never run out of things to say, whatever the case she was thankful to have a companion again.
