THE CRIMSON LIQUID WAS tattered around the battlefield coated with golden dust of defeated monsters and Giants. The air was filled with the malicious laughter of the Primordial of the Earth, Gaea. The demigods scattered all over fighting for their lives.
Percy whirled around with his sword alongside Piper and Jason. He let out a breath of shock as he turned around to see Piper leap in front of Jason, intercepting a spear.
The spear pierced through her stomach and went far enough to lodge itself in Jason's chest.
Tears flowed down his sea-green eyes as their bodies landed on the ground. He knelt down beside their bodies and picked the spear out their bloody bodies. He laid down both of their bodies together, knowing they probably were already in Elysium.
He frantically searched around for his friends when he saw a eagle circling the battle and he knew that it was Frank, the son of Mars. Any relief he felt was teared away from his chest when he found Hazel and Leo on the ground. Unmoving. He was ready to break down then and there when he saw a few boulders were flying towards the unarmed son of Mars. "Frank" the son of Poseidon called out as he lept forward to take the hit only to come up a few inches short.
Frank let out a scream of agony before his body disappeared into the ground. Percy let out a sob as he saw the dead bodies. He stood up looking for a swamp of blonde hair over the sea of bodies. That's when he saw her held in the air by the daughter of Khaos. He ran in full speed towards her. Towards Annabeth.
Seeing him approach Gaia threw the already weakened body of Annabeth Chase into a pillar followed by a scream from the young savior of Olympus. Percy bend down taking Annabeth in his arms, sobbing. "You can't...l- leave me, Wise Girl. Please, No" He pleaded with his dying girlfriend. She raised her shaky and bloody hand to his cheek and pulled him into a very desperate and passionate kiss. They savored the kiss knowing full well it was their last.
"Promise me...t-that you'll move on. Promise me... I love you Seaweed Brain." Her hand on his cheek went slack as her beautiful stormy grey eyes showed no signs of life. Percy let out a heart wrenching scream that the whole battlefield went silent, all searching for the producer. "I promise" he whispered to the dead body of his Wise Girl and closed her eyes.
He laid her body and stood you still shaken. His sea green eyes which always showed a glint of hope was replaced by a look of true rage. The look on his face was terrifying enough to make the monsters run but his glare was directed towards Gaea, made her flinch. Percy crushed anything and everything in his path towards the Primordial. He annihilated the monsters as the demigods looked in fear even though he was on their side.
His eyes saw nothing but white. Rage for Gaea had killed his one true love, his best friends and now she had to pay the price. He advanced towards her paying no mind to the monsters he killed. He duelled with Gaea trying to find a crack in her armour. The raw emotion gave him enough adrenaline to keep going even though all he wanted was to curl up and cry but he couldn't.
He couldn't because he was a leader and leaders were supposed to be strong. As he battled Gaea she tried to disarm him but he was too quick and disarmed her instead. Her eyes flashed as she saw the look in the son of Poseidon's eyes. Her eyes pleaded mercy as he raised his sword, Riptide, and drove it through her heart. Her body went limp as the earth cracked and swallowed her whole.
He let out a sob, his knees buckled as his sword clanked to the ground. Nico and Thalia ran towards him as he picked up his Wise Girl's body but he didn't care. All he cared about was the she was dead. He cried because he couldn't save Jason, Piper, Hazel, Frank and Leo. But most of all he cried because he couldn't save his Wise Girl.
He sobbed, nobody tried to comfort him because they knew nothing could help him right now. All he could needed was to cry and let it all out even though everyone knew he would blame himself. Thalia, Nico and Percy just hugged, not needing to say anything because they understood.

Soon, the battlefield was cleaned, the injured were being tended to, and shrouds being prepared for the dead. Percy had spoken during Annabeth's like she did at his, when they were fifteen but unlike then, she wasn't going to jump out of the bushes.
Everybody was at Olympus. Some of the gods looked at Percy with pity but he couldn't see them as his eyes were trained on the shimmering floor. After everyone was awarded, "Percy Jackson" Zeus's voice boomed around the throne room. Percy raised his eyes at his name. The sight in front of them shocked everyone. Percy's eyes were bloodshot with bags under them. His once beautiful sea green eyes filled with hope seemed broken. A hurricane of emotions swirling in them.
He stepped forward, his face expressionless. He was shocked to say the least, Zeus never called him 'Percy' it was always 'Perseus'. "You will be awarded with three wishes for your service in the Second Giant War" said Zeus, his normal harsh demeanor faltering.
Percy contemplated for what to ask. If it was in his hands he would bring back everyone from, Jason, Piper, Hazel, Frank, Leo and most of all his Wise Girl. Oh, how much he miss- No, he couldn't break down here, not in front of everyone.
"I would like for Lady Hestia and Lord Hades to have a throne in the Olympian Council" he said, his voice hoarse from not speaking much. "What?" Zeus asked, "Did I stutter?" He retorted. With a flick of his wrist, Zeus made two thrones appear. Hestia descended into her throne after giving him a quick hug, Hades sat down in his after giving Percy a nod acknowledgement and a rare smile. Zeus was being considerate which didn't happen often but he was just annoyed by the son of Poseidon's presence.
"I also want a portal connecting the two camps." He said. Hephaestus looked up from the automaton in his hands and said,"I'll do it"
"Excellent, your next wish?" Zeus asked, already annoyed by his heroic antics. "Can I hold that wish for later?" He asked running a hand through his already messy hair. "Of course, Percy" Poseidon said before Zeus could reply. After his gaze was removed from Percy, he met with Zeus's glare. They had a little stare down before Zeus, after a thousand years, backed down.
Percy muttered a little "Thanks dad" and flashed a unnoticeable smile and went back to his stoic face. Everybody was back at camp in a flash. Everyone dispersed except Nico, Percy and Thalia, who was here due to the Hunters taking refugee at the camp.
Percy looked at them and said,"I'll be heading to the city for a while." Both of them looked at him unsure of what to say until Nico said,"When are you coming back?"
"Honestly, I don't know. It's gonna take some time . I'll keep in touch tho" he answered. He waited for Thalia to say something, she didn't she just pulled him into her arms, and murmured something that sounded like,"I'll miss you".
Percy returned to his cabin and packed whatever small belongings he had left and started towards Thalia's tree. He looked back to what used to be his sanctuary but now is just a painful reminder of what once was.
