"Did you save me?" Asked Jonah, surprised.
"You said it."
"Then you are the good one. You look like a woman, it's strange," said Jonah, in a way that might seem tender to some.
"I adopt the form you desire."
"You know, it's amazing that you came to save me and not God. I have heard others say that he is very good and that he helps everyone, but why didn't he help me? And you, whom everyone refers to as an evil demon, have come to save me. We are very much alike. We are both judged unfairly."
"Child, comparisons are not good and even more so when they are as unequal as they are. Look at me, I am an angel, Beautiful, imposing, and you, well, you are a freak."
A freak, although that word Jonah had heard all his life, it hurt him when someone used it to refer to him. Yes, he already knew that his appearance was not the same as that of all the others, but neither did he think it necessary to be reminded of it every day of his miserable existence.
"Ha, ha, ha. Are you crying, child? It was a joke, although many say that the worst truths are told in a joke, let's forget all that nonsense and tell me, will you come with me?" Said Lucifer cynically.
"Do I have another option?" Asked Jonah seriously. At first, Lucifer was gaining his trust, but after that tasteless joke, Jonah realized that Lucifer was just like everyone else.
Jonah squeezed his eyes to dry the tears he still had from his most recent crying, but when he opened his eyes, surprise, horror, fear. The beautiful woman had disappeared, and in her place, there was a deformed monster, just like him. He was radiating very bright light, but it was slowly fading. At first, he was frightened and was going to scream, but he didn't. He had suffered all his life from the reaction of people when he saw it, and he could not do the same. He was not the same as them.
"Much better," said Lucifer and then added "No, you have no choice. If you decide not to come with me, you will be back in that pit. So tell me, which do you prefer, a pit or a circus? You decide."
"Circus," replied Jonah half-heartedly and frightened by the uncertainty of not knowing what would happen to him.
From the moment that Jonah decided to accept Lucifer's proposal, they appeared in an old and dilapidated house.
"What are we doing here?" Jonah asked, confused.
"You'll see," replied Lucifer, and he went over to an old bed where someone was sleeping wrapped up. He took off the sheet, and Jonah could see who it was. It was Alfredo, the main cause of his almost death. He held his hands but did nothing, just watched him sleep. At no time did he have any thoughts of revenge.
"What are you waiting for? Smother him with the pillow," whispered Lucifer, with a wicked laugh.
"What?," Replied Jonah in surprise and then added" I won't do that, I don't want to.
"All right, I will take revenge for you," said Lucifer calmly. He thundered his fingers, and Alfredo woke up startled. He did not even see Lucifer because his eyes were focused on Jonah, the deformed boy he had killed. Lucifer moved his hand to hit the wall and stood in front of him, poking his heart out. All this before the astonished look of Jonah.
Jonah ran slowly, but with firm steps. He was very frightened by the ruthless murder he had witnessed. He had not strayed far from Alfredo's house when he heard footsteps behind him, followed by a thin but deafening voice that made his blood freeze, but he continued to run.
"Where are we going?" Asked the voice, which came from a woman with brown skin like chocolate. She looked at Jonah, with bulging eyes and a small mocking smile.
"I'm going home," replied Jonah, looking straight ahead. All he could think about was getting back to his old home and locking himself in his room so he could never go out again. He knew he would not be welcome, as no one wanted him, but that was the only place he could go. He had no choice.
"Correction, we will go to the circus," said the woman, who was already standing in front of Jonah and blocking his way. Jonas had no choice but to stop.
"This is my true form," said the woman, realizing Jonah's confusion. Following this, she thundered her fingers, and they both appeared in a camp. The place looked poor, and there were barely four tents. When Lucifer and Jonah appeared, they saw a little man with no hands and legs, who was wallowing on the ground, similar to chickens when they decide to bathe in puddles of earth. When he saw him, he crawled quickly like a worm, until he entered the biggest tent, he seemed afraid.
"Let's go," said Lucifer to Jonah, and they entered the tent.
Jonah was scared but preferred to stay calm and quiet. He knew the danger he was in and had no choice but to obey. Upon entering the tent, everyone was staring at him, especially a lady whose boobs were so large they forced her to stay on all fours, as her upright body could not support the weight of her breasts reaching the ground. His gaze, which reflected suffering and pity, pursued him until he stood at the front, and Lucifer began to speak.
"Good afternoon, my dear prodigies. He is Jonah, and this other head is his sister, Alma," said Lucifer, while holding Alma's sleeping face.
Everyone looked at Jonah in amazement; they had never seen someone with two heads. It was something new to them. It made them very curious.
"Hey, why does your other head look dead?" Asked the Worm Man in a rough voice, who initially crawled into the tent.
"It's not dead, it's asleep," replied Jonah in an almost inaudible voice. Although Alma had never spoken, nor given strong signs of life, Jonah preferred to believe that she was only asleep and that at some point she would wake up.
"No, that head is dead. If it were alive, it would have woken up by now," yelled a tiny man in a blue curly wig.
"Shut up, you idiot. I think that head is suffering, suffering a lot because it can't wake up from its eternal sleep," said an extremely fat old lady sitting on the floor.
"Silence, my prodigies. It doesn't matter if she is dead or alive, only worry about giving a good welcome to Jonah, our new star." Lucifer thundered his fingers and disappeared.
The circus freaks approached Jonah, and almost everyone began to congratulate him at the same time. They were really happy to have a new member of the circus. Jonas felt a little uncomfortable seeing himself surrounded by so many people, who appreciated his presence. He never imagined he would find himself in such a situation. When he was most distracted by all the attention he received, he felt something touching his leg.
"The boy is surely very tired and needs to sleep. Jonah, follow me," said the worm man, and Jonah followed him without protest, as he crawled quickly across the floor. They arrived at one of the smaller tents and being there inside. The Worm Man showed him a bed in which the woman with the giant breasts was already lying.
"As today is your first day, you are going to sleep with Mom, she comforts us when we are sad, and I imagine you are."
Jonah stood there looking at the Worm Man, not knowing what to do, until he nodded to Jonah to lie down on the bed. Jonah did so, and immediately the lady, as if she had been waiting for him, hugged him very tightly and placed him on the lap of her large breasts. Jonah felt something he had never experienced before, Peace. Never in his short life had he been given a hug, and to feel for the first time the warmth of another human body covering him was the best feeling he had ever experienced. Within five minutes, Jonah was asleep. He didn't think about anything, just closed his eyes, and was overwhelmed.
Outside the tent in a conversation between the worm man and one of the dwarf clowns, named Tino.
"Poor boy, he has suffered so much," said the worm man.
"This is so, and unfortunately, he will suffer more, when in some days, he has to appear in his own village as the freak who returned from death."
