About an hour later I hear a knock on my front door so I go out and hand the pizza guy a handful of bills and take the pizza back up to my room. In the room, my two friends devour the pizza without a care in the world. "Oh, crap mine finished installing" "Same here" Both of my friends excitedly begin looking through their applications. Liz takes a bite of her slice and says "Should I claim the starter gift?" I had already thought of this so I said, "Yeah both of you should claim your starter gifts, I'll store all our supplies here until we can find a suitable place." Out of thin air, a case similar to the one holding my gun falls out of the air onto the lap of Liz. A somewhat smaller case also appears out of thin air and lands into the lap of Nathan.
Both of my friends are incredibly surprised after having seen 2 examples of things appearing out of thin air. In an attempt to break their surprise, I say, "Come on tell me what you got and make sure you take the gun out of its case to get a bit of a feel for how it fits in your hand." My plan works and both of my friends begin to look at their phones searching for the draw notification. "I got a 'CZ 75B'" Liz says while opening her gun case, she reaches into the case and pulls from it a gun that barely fits her small hands. I let her get acquainted with her gun and turn to Nathan. He notices this and quickly checks his phone, a look of excitement flashes onto his face, "I got a Glock 19!" I can't help but feel excited for him, "Nice! Well I guess I should show you guys my gun too"
Despite having briefly showed them the gun before I didn't feel right about not showing it off more. I pulled my gun from its case and proudly say, "This right here is my SIG Sauer P320 which I just recently converted to .45 ACP. This pistol has only been with me for a short time but has quickly become my best friend. I would hope you guys treat your guns with as much care that I do mine, you never know when it could save your life" my friends, upon hearing my short little speech begin to look at me with serious looks on their faces. They both seem to be contemplating my words as they nod. Seeing that I have successfully motivated them I realize something and walk over to my table, standing near Liz who is in my chair getting familiar with her gun's functions, I place my gun down on my table and while standing over it I proceed to meticulously field strip my gun down to its barrel, slide, and frame I go back over to my case and pull from it a few cleaning supplies I had bought from the app earlier.
I do my best to clean every part of my gun making sure to get my brush and rag into every crack and crevice until it is all in pristine condition. Once satisfied I put my gun back together and place it back in the case. I turn to my friends and they seem to be impressed by what I just did. "Where did you learn to do that. Man, that was super cool." Nathan says to me clearly in awe. "If you look underneath where your gun goes in the case there are instructions on how to strip and maintain both of your respective guns." They both let out an oh of understanding and start stripping their guns and putting them back together. "Alright guys no need to practice that, just make sure after you fire it to clean the carbon from the various parts of the gun," I say while gathering their attention.
Once I have their attention I put on my best serious face and say, "you guys are going to have to take a mission very soon. Unfortunately for you guys, you don't have the luxury of doing this over the weekend." They both seem to realize something and a bit fear creeps onto their faces. Nathan looks up, thinks for a bit, and says, "I'm completely guessing when I say this but what if we go together and take down that small trafficking ring tonight, it should count for all of us shouldn't it?." "That's definitely an option, I have that mission as well, as much as I want to try and ease you guys into this, I think that's the only option we have. What do you think Liz" I say in response to Nathan's idea. "I think we're screwed anyway so we might as well just try."
"Alright guys prepare yourself, take that mission and we will meet up tonight near my house. With what money I had leftover I ordered you guys some masks, I wasn't able to get body armor for both of you so I will take initiative on this one" I say, trying to sound as confident as possible, they both nod but seem to be thinking about something difficult. "Don't dwell on it, thinking about whatever is troubling you won't change anything. Here, I have an idea why don't you try on the balaclavas I bought you?" I say while gesturing to each of them with a pair of balaclavas. They take the balaclavas and begin putting them on, Liz struggles a bit to get her hair underneath it but eventually she gets it on. I put mine on as well and look at both of my friends.
"Since I didn't know your preferences I just bought you black balaclavas but once we complete this mission then you guys can get your own custom balaclavas, body armor, a ballistic helmet, and whatever else you choose." They both seem excited about this, Liz even exclaims, "Arent we going to look like those Spec Ops guys. That's so cool" in response to her excitement I decided to give her a word of caution. "Don't get too excited we still have to pass this mission alive; I will do research on the place for things such as nearby police stations and whatnot. We will find a covert way to walk up and put on our stuff. I'm just going to take my balaclava and body armor under my clothes for this one but once we are all matching, we will go full Special Forces"
Both of my friends listen to me intently while I stow their stuff away in my case. "This is going to be pretty cool," Nathan says excitedly. "You two really can't be helped, when I did the first of the missions that popped up, I was scared out of my mind and here you two are shaking with excitement." Nathan and Liz awkwardly laugh.
We eventually decided that it was time to split up until the time of the mission so I waved goodbye to my friends as they both went their separate ways. As I looked at the shrinking backs of my two friends as they walked towards their own houses, I began to feel a bit of excitement myself. We kind of are like those cool special forces guys. I smile and shut my front door.
I have been playing around with different ways to write their dialogue, let me know if it feels a bit stiff.
